Fois Gras yummy sauce and topping let it warm up a little for a little more creaminess, The short ribs are tasty and tender the tuna.
Had a free half-hour to kill, so I stopped in for a cocktail. This was my first visit to Clarity in several months, but I’ve been going there for years. I ordered a Manhattan and some bread. I was the only person at the bar. The bartender gave me my drink and (as I’d requested, so I wouldn’t be rushed later) the check, and that was the last I saw of her. I guess she forgot my bread, because I had to ask someone else to get me some bread after about 20 minutes had passed. The bartender just kept plugging away with whatever she was doing, and never acknowledged having forgotten the bread. Come to think of it, she never actually said another word to me after she handed me my drink – – not a “thanks” when I paid the bill, and not when I get up to leave. As I headed out, the manager at the front said, “Have a nice evening” literally without even looking up from the hostess stand. I have happily paid for a lot of $20 cocktails at Clarity over the years, but they never came with this level of indifference. It used to feel like this was a friendly neighborhood restaurant. Hoping I just caught them on an off night.
Great dinner at Clarity now that Chef Nick is back! My husband had the best onion soup in his life for first course while I had delicious scallops. Main courses were equally delicious. We'd eat here every night if we could! Such a great dining experience.
We've been eager to try this place, but it turned out to be a big disappointment. The tasting menu was underwhelming, with nothing special about the food to justify the prices. You can find a better experience at other restaurants that can satisfy your hunger
Excellent food and excellent service. Reasonably priced for the exceptional quality. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for gluten allergy
