한국보다 맛있었습니다. 특히 잡채밥 불맛에 정신줄 놓고 흡입했던것 같아요. 매콤한거 땡겨서 갔는데 김치와 같이 먹는데 너무 행복했습니다. 저희 테이블 거의 모든 음식 시켰던것 같은데 점심시간인데도 사장님과 종업원불들 모두 너무 친절하시고 인심도 좋았습니다. 뉴저지에서 오래살았는데 뉴저지에 소문난집이 제 학창시절을 위로해줬다면 미시간은 청기와 인것 같습니다. It was even better than what I had in Korea. I especially lost myself in the smoky flavor of the Japchae rice. I was craving something spicy, and eating it with kimchi was pure bliss. It seemed like we ordered almost everything on the menu, and despite it being lunchtime, the owner and the staff were all incredibly warm and generous. --- 3월 22일 두번째 방문 리뷰 죄송합니다. 저 이정도면 거의 홍보대사인데... 오늘도 매운게 땡겨서 갔는데 짬뽕은 금요일 저녁엔 안한다고하셔서 다른 메뉴를 추천받아 감자탕과 보양탕을 시켰어요. 우선 사진처럼 들깨가 거의 들이붜져서 나와 너무 고소 했습니다. 감자탕에는 돼지고기 (목살인가요?)가 큰게 3덩이가 자리잡고 있어 혼자 다 먹을 수 없을 정도 였어요.(실제로 두분이서 많이들 나눠 드신다고) 점원분이 너무너무 친절하셔서 제가 너스레떨며 지난번 리뷰남긴 이야기와 이런저런 이야기 나누다보니 이민생활 고단함이 좀 가신 느낌이었어요. 요리하시는 분이 시골분 이셔서 이런 탕종류 맛의 깊이가 한국 시골에서 먹는 음식들 같다 등등 너무 부담스럽지도 TMI이지도 않게 적당히 거리 지켜주셔서 감사했습니다. 음식도 음식이지만 사실 다시 리뷰 쓰자고 생각한건 사장님 이야기 때문이에요. 이민 생활 오래하신분들은 잘 아시겠지만 과거 1세대 혹은 0세대 이민자 분들이 미국으로 건너오실 당시 한국이 국민소득 몇천불이 안되던 시대여서 대부분 소히 말씀하시는 스카이 엘리트 분들이 많았다고 들었습니다. (하물며 미시간까지 오신분들은) 이민자로 사회에서는 저평가되어 하실수 있는 일들이 제한되어 있었지만 (금은방 세탁소 네일가게 구두가게...) 되셨었지만 머리좋고 무엇보다 근성으로 자세좋고 열심히사셔서 새벽에 나가 새벽에 들어오고 주말없고 365일 1월1일만 쉬고 일하셔서 대부분 부자가 되셨다고 하죠. 그른데 안타깝게도 사회적 동물인 인간이 금전적인 부분외에 권력과 자리 그리고 명예욕심이 채워지질 못하니 그부분을 교회나 음식점 등 돈만 있으면 나름 "갑"의 입장이 되는곳에서 해소하려 하는 분들이 많은것 같아요. 음식점 오셔셔 맛에 대해 서비스에 대해 컴플레인 하실때 (당연히 건설적인 비판은 양쪽에 모두 도움이 된다 생각함) 사장님을 너무 인격적으로 모독하는 분이 있어서 깜짝 놀랐어요. 술이 한껏 취하셔서 그런가 표정과 제스쳐 쩔쩔 매시는 사장님을 손바닥위에 두고 가지고 노시는 느낌도 들었어요. 이러면 안됩니다. 팔이 안으로 굽는다곤 하지만 (벌써) 개인적으론 오래오래 장사하시길 바라는 마음에 긴글 남겨봅니다. 서로 존중하고 받으며 살아보아요. 우리 아이들 읽는 책에 다 나와있어요. 내가 남에게 한만큼 다 내게 돌아옵니다! --- second visit review (03/22/2024) Almost a brand ambassador at this point, I'm back again, craving something spicy. Today, since they don't serve jjamppong on Friday evenings, I tried their recommendation of gamjatang and boyangtang. The soup was richly infused with perilla seeds, lending an incredibly nutty flavor. The gamjatang featured generous chunks of pork (neck meat, perhaps?), enough for two to share comfortably. The staff's kindness truly lightened the burden of my immigrant life. As we chatted about my previous review and various topics, I felt a sense of relief. The cook, from the countryside, brings a depth of flavor to these dishes that reminds me of meals in rural Korea. Their approach was neither overbearing nor too distant, striking a perfect balance. Yet, what compelled me to write this review was not just the food, but the story of the owner. Many first or 'zero' generation immigrants who moved to the U.S. when Korea's national income was low were highly educated 'sky elites.' Despite being undervalued in society and limited to certain jobs (jewelry stores, laundromats, nail salons, shoe stores...), their intelligence and, most importantly, their tenacity led them to success. Working from dawn to dusk, with no weekends off except January 1st, many became wealthy. Sadly, humans, being social creatures, seek more than just financial success; they yearn for power, position, and recognition. Some fulfill these needs in churches or restaurants, where money can buy a certain status. I was shocked to hear a customer, inebriated and demeaning the owner over some complaints about the food and service. Although constructive criticism is beneficial, this went beyond that, reducing a dignified person to someone's plaything. This shouldn't happen. While we naturally tend to be more forgiving towards our own, I sincerely hope this business thrives for a long time. Let's live with mutual respect and understanding. As our children's books say, what we give to others comes back to us.

Best Korean place near my house and the bento boxes are back now. I love to get their little side dishes to go; just $5.00 for 5 different dishes ...oh I love having this assortment on days when I am not eating at the restaurant. The food is authentic and excellent. The people are very nice and friendly I have been eating here for years and when I travel it is hard to find this quality. Enjoy

먹을만한곳

I always loved their food but then their meals got even better since the new ownership. The Korean barbecue combos are plenty enough for the family of 4 or more depending on your choices, and the quality of the meat is superb. My other favorite is Korean-Chinese combo (Jjajang myon, Jjampong, Tang su yuk). Also the staff are very pleasant. Highly recommended for lunch and dinner.

Beautifully prepared food with excellent presentation and a wonderful staff ! Thoroughly enjoyed some late night kbbq and had a wonderful host/server for the korean new year ! Thank you again see you soon ! Nik

Don’t waste your money on the kimchi jjigae at this spot. There’s barely any pork. I had 1 small piece of pork in my entire order, and also the kimchi was cooked so long that it’s mushy. Korea Palace has much better kimchi jjiggae.

Usually my lunch spot when I want Korean, the taste is always the same which is great! Large tables available for groups too!

Come here for lunch with coworkers often. Always good.
