I’ve been here twice and both times it hasn’t been the best experience. The first time I was corrected that it’s “drinking chocolate” in a rudely way but I just laughed away the awkwardness. The chocolate was good the first trip so we came back…. And then it went down hill. Staff was too busy cleaning to take our order, the barista avoided eye contact as I stood there with a question, and then my drink wasn’t completely full when it arrived. I don’t predict us coming back here for any more “mommy and me” dates
Reasonably food but it takes longer than 30 mins to get food after ordering. Staff pleasant but definitely not in a rush.
I've had L&R chocolate before they moved to ChocMo, but didn't get a chance to try ChocMo until recently. I knew L&R made great chocolates so I was expecting something close to that quality. I was sorely disappointed. The ChocMo chocolates were horrible, worse than Hershey's. They were dry and had the texture of stale chocolate. Even if I didn't have them side-by-side with the L&R chocolates I would've still disliked them, but the difference in quality was glaring with the immediate comparison. I hope the L&R quality doesn't deteriorate now they are under the ChocMo umbrella. I gave it two stars because the service was good and the drinking chocolate was decent.
I had the privilege of experiencing ChocMo in their prior location before this new building. Both there and here the food, service, and atmosphere are great. It has a very nice cafe vibe with plenty of open seating. High ceilings give the space a nice open feeling as well as the entire wall of windows grabs wonderful natural light. Their outdoor seating is also great during the summer because it is south facing and by about 3-4 o'clock it goes into the shade before things get too hot. Highly recommend. Wheelchair accessibility: Right on the ground floor with ADA doorways and auto openers!
Just stopped by for a drinking chocolate. Noticed it wasn’t in its usual fountain. They heated it up with steam, I ended up with a half of cup of foam for $4.95. So the restaurant upstairs is not that good and Chocmo is way overpriced!
Perfect balance between chic and neighborhood gem The food is delicious Fancy interpretation of classics without sacrificing flavor The smell is amazing It would be nice if seating was a little more comfortable Service is closer to bakery than restaurant/ cafe - but friendly when you approach them
New update: they seem to have a fruit fly problem and that is a health hazard which is a shame cause I do like their coffee an pastries THE COFFEE IS SO GOOD!!! If you order a mocha be warned it will be tasting like hot chocolate because of how creamy it is, so if creamy isn't your thing don't get a mocha. The food is amazing I have the berry lemon crepes and my boyfriend had a sandwich and both were amazing. It is pretty pricey, which is my only complaint. The coffee and tea are pretty worth it but the food is pricey. I like their cupcakes when they make them and their danishes as well. Easily one of my favorite cafés. Service is wonderful and it has a very welcoming atmosphere. Did some chemistry work here and it's nice.
