This has always been our go-to place, hopefully, this was just an off day. Waited for over an hour for our food to come to the table and it never happened?? 5 other groups came in after us and were served. We had ordered House Special Lo Mein and Sweet and Sour pork nothing challenging to get to the table. The appetizers were good not as hot as I would have liked. The sweet and sour soup was flavorless. At the 1 hour and 15 minute mark was tired of waiting, paid $20 for the appetizers, and left.
Ordered takeout- Ku Ting crispy. The sauce was good, but the whole batch was beyond crispy. It was extremely overcooked. It certainly had the texture of jerk chicken and the meat was tough and rubbery. It did not taste like freshly cooked food. It has the texture of frozen food, overcooked and kept under a heat lamp. What wasn't rubbery was soggy. The rice was nowhere near what I'd hoped for. Overcooked slightly. It was decent enough for takeout Chinese food, but not at these entree prices. The hot and sour soup was bland and had very little taste at all. Portion sizes were astronomical. I expect they are losing quite a bit of money and plenty of takeout boxes from those dining in. Recommend- Fresh ingredients cooked to order. Chicken and breading show obvious signs of careless cooking. Soak rice before cooking. Add a dash more rice vinegar to the soup and some white pepper.
Found out when we got here that they’re open for takeout only on Christmas Eve. Not ideal as coming here every Christmas Eve is a family tradition. Placed an order for takeout and since it was crowded inside, I preferred to wait for my order in the car. The hostess at the front said she “probably can’t” take my phone number to let me know when my order would be ready which made no sense. She was also extremely rude. As I was trying to give her my phone number she straight up walked away and didn’t come back, so I left. Horrible experience and won’t be back.
Tangerine chicken was so amazing!
I love it here. The tofu fried rice is delicious
My first time here. Absolutely loved the food. Got here Saturday for late dinner. Pricey for this time of day, but the food is so delicious, totally worth it. We had spicy honey&sesame chicken, kung pao chicken and fried rice with beef. Their IPA and plum wine are also very good. Will be back here again to try their lunch specials.
The sweet and sour shrimp was fantastic.
This is our go to for szechwan food. Food is amazing. You can tell great care goes into the preparation. Service is wonderful. I would recommend it to everyone. And now since they are moving to San Marcos, you should go before they close.
