I like the food here and order often, tonight I ordered peking ribs for the first time and oh my god they are one of the best things I ever tasted ! Most definitely my new favourite food ! Thank you.

Ordered food for myself and friends, was told that it would be with us within an hour and then waited over 2 hours for delivery despite ringing three times to enquire why it was taking so long, how long it would be and being told it was on its way more than once. we then asked to cancel the order as 2 hours was ridiculous and ordered elsewhere. A delivery driver then turned up twenty minutes later with the food that we had cancelled. We sent the food back but now china star are saying we took the food and refusing to refund. Avoid at all costs!

Recently moved near here and after reading reviews about China Star we thought we'd give it a try. Simple order cooked in 15 mins and we collected it rather have a delivery. Food was good and also still hot after a 5 min walk home. I think most of the problems people have are delivery related, but we will definitely be ordering from here in future Mark Thewlis

Don't let the outside fool you. This small takeaway sells some of the best Chinese I've ever tasted. Speedy service. Reasonably priced too.

We had had a very good meal having collected it, as bad reviews on delivery. Thought we would have another, Monday evening states open, phone line went to answer machine, so went to shop, as thought maybe a problem with phone. Closed, no notice on door very bad business practice if you are going to be so rude as to not open why don't you leave a message on the answer phone to that affect?

China star give you smaller portions yet charge the same price when question about she tried to blame the supplier for wrong size tubs

The chips were bland and over fried and stodgy, only positive was they were hot but not in a good way they were dry and hard and felt reheated, they were barely edible couldn't finish the bag due to lack of taste and hadn't offered seasoning (salt and vinegar), they were almost certainly microwaved. The pie tasted slightly stale but other than that okay. The fish appeared to be medium but was in fact mostly hollow making a small size. The overhead menu had no clear pricing and the women behind the plexi glass and counter referred us to the paper menu on the counter top beneath a blue tacked on perspex sheet. This menu showed the product and pricing along with multiple banners advertising 10% off for orders in store. Our order would have amounted to £11.20 based on the menu prices alone, or £10.08 with the aforementioned discount. Instead we were charged £11.70 which had to be by cash. when we then questioned these prices we were told we could cancel our order if we wished but that the till prices had increased and that the in store price we would receive included the 10% discount. When we entered the establishment the staff didn't greet us and we're unfriendly as we progressed they got more and more argumentative and the store itself had no seating and the entire place felt like the bare minimum and a place for people who were drunk enough not to care about anything from quality of food to customer service. We will not be visiting ever again.
