Not your typical Chinese buffet: this place is clearly several steps above. It does cost more than the average Chinese buffet, but the selection of high quality, desirable foods really does justify it. For example, many places have some sushi selections, though most don't have actual raw fish varieties. China Garden not only has several raw fish varieties, they also have sashimi, which I've not seen before in a place like this. Several places have a hibachi grill, but this is the only one I saw with whole, pealed, extra large shrimp ready to be added to your creation. They also had a wide variety of seafood including squid, several fish varieties, and many other items I don't specifically recall. The buffet even included prime rib too. All that for about $3-$4 more than a typical Chinese buffet. That adds up to a great destination for a nice dinner when you don't mind spending a few more dollars for something truly better. The atmosphere is nice too. The restaurant was clean. The buffet was well attended. The bathrooms were clean and appropriately stocked. They have a large cot pond inside too, and the decorations are generally nice (though I admit I don't pay much attention to decorations). The service was fine. They were very busy, and we were in a large group of about 30 people. Sometimes empty plates weren't picked up quickly and drinks weren't refilled as quickly as preferred, but under the circumstances, I thought they did fine. I suspect if we had been in a smaller party or just at a less busy time, those things would have been better. Overall, I definitely plan to go here again when we are back in Columbia.
The abundance of variety is great! There is hibachi, sushi and then the traditional buffet. Friday and Saturday dinners offer crab legs and more seafood. Everything is fresh and delicious! The wait staff is pleasant and efficient.
