Claim old world elegant atmosphere, but let people eat in sweatshirts and hoodies....Sad...
This is definitely a beautiful, elegant restaurant with delicious Italian food. We had reservations but arrived early, so we knew we would have to wait. The table wasn't ready, but we were seated 15 minutes before our reservation time! However, once we were seated, no one came to our table for 5 minutes, when we received bread and water, no menus. After 9 minutes of waiting, I flagged down a server and asked if there was anyone who could help us. She was very apologetic, and after that, the service was stellar! The eggplant appetizer was delicious with a rich, thick tomato sauce. The rest of the food was also amazing! Our only complaint was the temperature/timing of our entrees. We hadn't finished our appetizer when the entrees arrived, both of which were room temperature. The side dish of pasta (all items are a la carte) was steaming hot and fabulous. It had an olive oil, herb sauce with a bit of spice. When I mentioned the temperature of the food, I was immediately offered a fresh entree, which I took home. We were celebrating a birthday, so we were given a complimentary slice of cake, which was light and creamy. I'm chalking up the initial lack of service and food temperature to our late reservation time. We will definitely visit again but opt for an earlier reservation.
My wife and I went here 13 years ago for a very special evening and we finally came back after all these years and Charlie Gitto’s was ever bit as good as we remembered it! Thanks for making another special evening for us! Photographed is the Five Berry Cosmopolitan and the Seafood Pasta Suzanne.
This place EXCEEDED all of my expectations!! My boyfriend and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and upon being seated, the waiter asked what the occasion was. When we told him we were celebrating an anniversary, he was cheerful and even gave us a dessert at the end of our dinner. The service was FANTASTIC, and the food was truly unforgettable. All of the staff was so friendly and on top of their duties - they were quick to fill up waters, bring bread, bring parmesan for certain dishes, the waiter always made sure our wine glasses were full, etc. This is the place to celebrate!!! We will definitely be back. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Great decades ago, last three visits not good. Last night Charlie’s smelled like a dirty diaper and food was not good. Two friends with us also said the food was bad. Winning awards must be based upon food not served in their restaurant. It is very sad for me as this was my favorite restaurant.
Todd and Sara were exceptional! Both took good care of my cousin and myself for dinner a few weeks ago. Upon returning for another fabulous meal, I’ll request these two! Thank you Todd and Sara for outstanding service! PS nice lighter Todd
Great nostalgic restaurant! The dim lighting, The concierge at the door, the woman at the coat check... All legit! My server was an excellent sales professional. He offered the right suggestions to kick thing up to the appropriate level! Well Done! The food was "okay". The appetizers were well presented. The highlight was the bottle of Duckhorn Cabernet! The bottle was priced well above retail but easily overlookable. Overall I had a 7.5 out of 10 experience. (No Shade) Parking: Be careful during inclement weather. Staff did what they could but the lot was very slick when I visited. Totally NOT Charlie G's fault
Don't wear a hat you will be asked to take it off wether your a male or female..
