Really lovely food been attending here for years, saw it rebranded so wanted to give it a go! The decor inside is truly amazing and very unique miss the fish tank though! The food is exceptional definitely good quality wish there was more options but understand they want to keep the quality up and maybe having a rotating menu each week as after a while you are eating the same things over and over. The dessert section is a bit confusing. There's a stall with some desserts and ice cream, then after the food there is another dessert section. The desserts kind of let it down, as they aren't Thai oriented and are quite weird. Thai jelly, pancakes, banana fritters then we have pick and mix, slushes, popcorn and chocolate donuts. The quality is better on the food than the desserts. Overall very clean and tidy staff are very friendly and leave you to your own devices. 4/5!
Went here today spontaneously for dinner. The food was basically inedible. Even my kids left most of theirs. There was not much choice really, and about a quarter of it wasn't Thai (dry fish fingers, onion rings, chips, dry chicken wings) papaya salad with none of the sides or toppings. Masaman had whole new potatoes in it (like the ones from a tin). The salad was like a cheap pizza but salad bar, and there was 3 selections of equally ropey looking noodles. Desert bar had doughnuts which were so dry my son couldn't chew it, fruits and marshmallows, pancakes from a packet and 'Thai custard'. The only actual Thai pudding was stewed bananas which were sadly not that nice. The ice cream was frozen solid so my kids couldn't even get a simple chocolate ice-cream. When I think about the fact it cost us £20 each to eat it makes me cross. We all came home and drank loads of water too which usually means the foods been cooked with msg. It was bland, nasty, dry, tough, bad bad food. When you have places like Zaap and Lemongrass in the city you should really make more of an effort. The service was OK, but I felt like we were dining at McDonald's - shown to our seats then not spoken to again until we paid, and the waitress was visibly upset we hadn't left a tip. The whole place looked kinda nice from the outside but felt worn and unloved once seated. Wouldn't go back again even if the food was free.
Not keen on buffet restaurants myself but my partner loves Papaya salad. Definitely not the best Thai food in town. Beware they are liable you're close early. We've been caught out twice by this, today we were turned away at 750.
Seemed slightly overpriced for the choice of food available, but what was available was very nice.
Pretty terrible establishment these days, unsure exactly what died first; the jellyfish in the tank or the quality of food? This place was a good little cheap place to eat as many dishes as you could maybe 10 years ago. These days it’s an unhygienic cesspit, can’t remember the last time I saw birdseye fish fingers being sold out of a street vendors cart in Phuket, Thai people would be ashamed.
Food; - Buffet style - Flavours were ok - Good selection from buffet offering Service; - Staff friendly - Plates cleared regularly - Staff always on hand when needed Atmosphere - Not too crowded (Tues evening) - Didn't have to wait on line at any point Shaxos Travel on YT Vegetarian options: Mainly Tofu/veg and salad related dishes
Nice selection of food and attentive staff - I'm especially fond of the desserts! Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian dishes, including vegetables and tofu Parking: Plenty of parking throughout Meadowhall
We saw the food on offer and decided to try it and wasn't disappointed at all until after we left and realised we had been overcharged 3 buffets and one coke charged £63.60 Surely coke is not £6.75 a glass unless they charge for 2 glasses of tap water. Shane as we really enjoyed the food.
