wow so yummy mmmmmm so yummy buble tea
Visited on a weekday evening, no queue, quick/friendly (but slightly lost in translation) service. Not noisy. I got a matcha latte with bubbles, no ice, no sugar. £5.70 for large. The server(s) asked me twice if I was sure that I didn't want any sugar and seemed a bit suspicious/surprised that I remained sure.... so I expected the tea to have very little sweetness, but it turned out to be the sweetest matcha bubble tea I have ever had!! Their tapioca balls were also sweeter than I remember them being in other places in the past. Not my preference, so I won't be getting the same again. Their receipts have Arabic numerals, but item descriptions are in Chinese characters only. So, if you need to tell what's what on your receipt, you won't be able to unless you can read Chinese. Their menu is also in Chinese, but English translation is present in slightly smaller print. However, there was a poster in the window, that seemed to be advertising some kind of a (multi-buy?) deal, written entirely in Chinese, with no translation/alternative poster provided at all. In my opinion it made the place feel a little unwelcoming to non-Chinese speaking folk. (I am sure their staff would have explained the poster/any deals they have, but my social battery was too low to engage beyond placing my order, especially as the first staff member had already struggled to understand my accent and another person had jumped in to enter my order. Sometimes it's just easier to be able to read.)
The bubble tea and other drinks were really good!
Really nice to study here also the bubble tea was good but I think the menu is a bit difficult to figure out, I ordered a Hazelnut bubble tea and it was warm but I didn't see anything about that on the menu. The staff are sweet and the place is a vibe.
I ordered Oolong milk tea with bubbles for takeaway, I guess the lady on the till didn’t understand English and gave me tea without any bubbles, I mentioned that I want no ICE, and I guess she assumed I want no Bubbles! Its only when I came home and opened my takeaway I realised there were no bubbles in it. Horrible experience! And waste of money! What good is a bubble tea without any bubbles!!
This is my favourite Taiwanese food place in Leeds. Big chicken cutlet(大鸡排), braised pork rice(卤肉饭) and curry rice(咖喱饭) are quite authentic! I prefer here to other Taiwanese places in Leeds for the better taste. I'm not Chinese but went to Taiwan two times and had a lot of Taiwanese food in Singapore too when I lived there, so it was a surprise I could get authentic or similar quality in Leeds too! Price is also great and what makes me happiest is they accept cards!!! Many Chinese places only accept cash, so this is a big plus for me. Haha
Mouldy fried chicken. Owner refused to give a full refund and claimed the green mould within the chicken as the powder used for coating the chicken. No sense of food safety. Reported to council for the incident
