Carolina Cupcakery in Virginia

I usually go to the sweet the creamery which is awesome by the way, but decided to give Carolina a try since I live for cup cakes. Long story short I paid $14 for a literal pound of icing that tasted the same on every cup cake. just looking at them I had a feeling the cakes we're dry but I had already walked in the store to suspicious and confused looks. sadly a tall African American guy with dreads just can't walk into a store full of Caucasian women in Greenbrier area of Chesapeake and walk out without being thought troublesome and suspicious. so I very very reluctantly had to buy a few of these dry and gross cupcakes. Read all one star reviews like most places in Chesapeake this is not a place for the darker of skin. To the owner: the 17 likes I got for this posting beg to differ.every word is true. Your cakes are cheap and gross, and your employees are racist as stated in other comments about your business. Instead of lurking and attacking people's legitimate issues with you(which you seem to love to do) , your staff , and quality of product. you should be retraining how to better serve the your customers . Better yet ,take a baking class.

This bakery was so easy to work with, and helped put together custom cake pops for a baby gender reveal for my family. They were great!

Dry and dense. Costco cupcakes are better and cheaper.

Have been coming here for years, highly recommended- we have gotten cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Super accommodating for whatever vision you have and willing to do everything possible to make sure the order is perfect.

Sooooo sad I had a craving for cupcakes, I went in and the young lady was in the back, peeked in on me and said nothing. I thought ok she might be super busy back there. I made my choice she finally comes out to ring me out. She was just unhappy with her life and her job. I put a 5 tip in the jar not even a thank you. Any way I get in the car and the cupcakes had rock hard frosting I mean I picked up the frosting with my hand and my hand were clean no frosting, 8 mean the frosting was in tacked.the cake part was like dust falling apart. I was still out side the business I thought to go back in to show them but they know exactly what they were selling stale old cupcakes. AWFUL PRODUCT

I have ordered cupcakes here in the past and thought they were pretty good so I ordered them again. This go round was very disappointing. The cupcakes were flavorless and the texture was weird; kind of underdone? Most of us did not even finish them. I was kind of embarrassed to have brought them actually. I won't be ordering from here again.
