Cardinal

We enjoyed family time over dinner during our first time at this establishment. While some of the dishes, like the NY stake, were nicely done, can't write the same about the skirt stake which was on the dry side; and the polenta had a few more lumps than desired. The cocktails were a delight, but the bean soup was either hot or cold, depending on which side of the bowl we tasted. Lastly, the crabcake starter had more breadcrumbs than crab- not sure it would be worth another try given the fact that more than 2/3 of our meal left a lot to be desired.

I dine at Cardinal often and it's always delightful. Last night, I had the pleasure of attending their inaugural Cocktail Dinner featuring Little Water Distillery and it was truly phenomenal. Every dish was delicious and really unique. I especially loved the butter poached black cod (hoping that lands on the regular menu some day). We were sat at long tables family-style, encouraged to meet our neighbors, and to "make memories" (their motto). There was a special community vibe to the night although I didn't personally know most of the guests. And of course, they kept it very relaxed and approachable—Brian even told us we should dip our Lamb Tenderloin Wellington in the Truffle & Black Garlic "Boulevardier" cocktail to enjoy the best possible pairing experience. I did so and it was delicious and fun! Cardinal does sweet, spicy, smokey, and savory cocktails exceptionally well—the cocktails for the event were all more on the savory side which I loved! Amazing Executive Chef, great food, wonderful service. Loved everything

Cardinal offers some of the most creative dishes and cocktails in the area. From their happy hour to brunch or dinner —there is something delicious for everyone. The chef is very personable and accommodating for celiac/gluten free. I’ve attended a wedding there and held my own birthday brunch event. Some of my favorites include: crispy broccoli, Korean chicken wings, curry salmon, burger with a fried egg- too many to list! Can’t say enough good things don’t miss out!

In December while in town I followed a local’s advice and gave this place a try, and I liked it so much then that I came back again on my most recent trip to Atlantic City for a concert in February and brought some friends along with. We appreciated the quality of local beer selection, and tried the wings and outstanding raw oysters at happy hour. Also, compliments to Meredith as well as the gentleman with the distinguished mustache behind the bar for taking great care of us. Definitely looking forward to returning here again whenever my travels bring me back to A.C.!

We had such a fantastic dinner here for Valentine’s day! The food was fantastic and the staff was so great. Highly recommend for a date night!

Went for valentines dinner tonight. At first we were excited to try the restaurant out at last. Ordered the fluke crudo and shrimp app. The crudo wasn’t fresh, and we took a few bites before leaving it. Next we had the bacon wrapped filet and lobster lasagna.. Filet (med rare) didn’t seem like an actual beef tenderloin. It was very chewy, and there was sinew still left in the center of it. The bacon seemed half cooked. Next we had the grapefruit sorbet that was iced out and very very tart. Nothing like a sorbet texture. Last and finally we had the cheesecake and strawberry chocolate cake. The cheesecake was a “basque” cheesecake, but was quite dry and the chocolate cake seemed like it was reheated in a microwave…like an easy bake oven cake. I don’t know what happened tonight but being a chef I was disappointed. I was upset I picked tonight to take my lady there for the first time. The food was not what I expected unfortunately.

We absolutely love everything about Cardinal and always look forward to dinner and cocktails almost every week. Valentine’s Day they completely blew it out of the park, the food was off the charts incredibly. We had the lobster lasagna and it was a dish you could not forget, I can’t stop talking about how delicious it was. They do everything right there. The service is always top notch, bartenders that can actually make a good drink and don’t ever leave without trying the desserts, they are mind blowing.
