Great garden centre but pricey
Been coming here for the last few years plants are usually healthy and a great choice and this continues to be the case. As for the rest of the recently revamped area to be frank it feels disjointed with now no flow at all. The food area smelling of fish is right next to the clothes and each area now feels blocked off narrow and there is no space to just browse and peruse and hopefully spend some money. Everything feels crammed with no room to really view items. Maybe it’s not finished it certainly feels that way. As for the cafe again it has the same vibes the coffee was ok as usual the cakes were awful really false tasting and at close to £5 a cake extortionate for the quality, if you going to charge those prices they should taste gorgeous. Will come back for the plants but nothing else. I like change I like new ideas but the changes here are a poor imitation of Cadbury Garden Centre without the space to do it. The changes have been poorly executed.
Very nice products, but a little pricey. Search for a bargain is hard here.
Always great food and the service is amazing, lovely staff that are always happy to help
Popped in for lunch, great staff, fabulous food. We will definitely be back
Cafe does Great Food and friendly staff
The garden centre itself is lovely with a wide range of products. However, the service and food in the restaurant is disappointing. Last time we visited the wrong food order was delivered to our table on more than one occasion. We visited again today and service was slow. People who were behind us in the queue were getting their food order taken before us. Two of us had the frittata, which really wasn’t a nice consistency (rubbery) and quite bland. However, the cakes did look delicious. I do feel like the restaurant has a bit of work to do on quality of both food and service.
We've been coming here for a few months just to eat at the restaurant! They had amazing vegan options and vegan cake, since the upgrade it is now a packaged biscuit slice of average taste and no obvious vegan options on the menu! Unfortunately we will no longer be coming here, feel really disappointed! Shame
I'm a regular visitor with my mum.. Beautiful store, great choice of clothing and homeware... but the layout is confusing.. I hated the previous set up with the tills, where you were forced to go through the tills before you could exit the store....the new changes mean you have to leave the main store to reach the tills...very odd if you're only buying homeware or clothes... (And a long walk for elderly people). The restaurant upgrade is absolutely lovely but the service and wait for food is disappointing and frankly unacceptable. 40 mins wait for fish and chips and a bowl of soup. No notification from the waitress to advise the food would be a long wait...had to chase up the food twice...had to ask twice to pay the bill and still no-one came...In the end I walked up to the till to pay.. The service looks disorganised and chaotic... Food standing waiting for waiters to collect/deliver to customers...Staff standing around... And why no service charge? Maybe if you had tips the staff would be more motivated to follow through on orders and give a more thorough service??!! Overall disappointing... But as it's one of the few local places I expect I'll be back...I hope to see improvement soon else we will go elsewhere.
