Café Rouge - Center Parcs Whinfell

Staff were absolutely amazing, visited for dinner with my husband, staff were very professional, attentive and speedy. I had a slight issue with my beef burgignon which was resolved immediately and they couldn't have been kinder. I would highly recommend for the service alone. Great team of staff

Main course was a camembert burger, couldn't taste the meat as the flavour of the cheese overwhelmed everything. Son had the chicken burger it was ok but dry. Dessert took so long the ice cream had nearly totally melted when arrived, the bottle of beer ordered at the same time arrived 10mins after we'd finished dessert, bit pointless as we were ready to leave then I had seen it sitting there on a tray ignored for at least 20 mins. Service charge was automatically added to the bill, and then the card machine prompts to add a gratuity on top, which will no doubt catch people out.

Too busy, staff doing their best but just not good eneuf for a £100 + meal. Here we are with all our plates after the long awaited dessert

Tasty breakfast, my poached eggs were hard boiled tho was good,but could do with a bit of a clean table and condiments a little grubby Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian and vegan breakfast options available Wheelchair accessibility: There were. Couple of people in Chair, good access.

Avoid

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered garlic mushrooms as a starter and it was great however, the main was not as good. As a main, I ordered a plant based burger with fries. The cheese on the burger wasn't melted, it was a block of cheese with some grated cheese on top of the patty, which didn't melt either, making it very dry. The burger patty was burnt, and the fries were nothing special. To make it even worse, we waited 90 mins between the starter and the main course, despite the restaurant not being full. Overall, the meal was incredibly average, falling short of expectations.

Service was good as far as the front of the house. Lovely waitress that had to apologise repeatedly for the slow kitchen. Over an hour for the food to arrive. Considering we booked ahead the kitchen should have been ready. We had a similar experience at Huck’s the night before, another restaurant inside the Center Parc.. once you are inside the Parc its a long way to any other food options. Go figure..

Ricardo the waiter is a credit to cafe rough and made our family meal so enjoyable and our food was Devine

Food was awful, cold chips, salad was days old. Staff OK , but problems with payment - system was down

Food was great and staff were even better. Linzi, our waitress, was absolutely outstanding, and I think our son, Noah, already misses her!
