Burkey Family Restaurant

Food is very reasonably priced. Our first time here so we didn't know what we liked. Their Onion rings are onion straws and are delicious. I wasn't crazy about the potato salad but my Husband really liked it I didn't care for the salmon patties and I really wanted to. The breakfast bar looks delicious. My son got it and said the sausage gravy was very good.

My kids absolutely loved the mac & cheese. We only got one and were all sorta fighting over it. My daughter asked for spinach and mushrooms on her burger and they said no problem, and it was great. Beer battered fish and catfish were real filets and not processed fish parts. Atmosphere inside and out could use a little work, but it's clean and has soft booths like a diner. People are nice. I heard from them, that it's recently under new ownership, so if you tried it pre 2024, you might want to try it again.

It was VERY disappointing to visit Burkey's tonight. I've been there many times, both with the previous owners and the current ones. After much bragging about the food to my out of state family, we dined inside. After some difficulty seating 6 people, we order a combination of breakfast food and burgers. We waited over 50 minutes for our food, and also watched people who came in after us be served. The waitress was not the problem, as she provided good service when finally given the food. When leaving, we asked for a bill adjustment, and staff asked the owner who offered 10%. Since the owner was sitting near us the whole time, I do feel she should have offered this without making her staff ask her. Overall, the food was good, but absolutely not worth the wait for over a $60 bill.

The chicken and mashed potatoes were amazing. I would say they need a better ventilation system. It smelled like grease in the dining area.

Very disappointed by this food. We waited an hour and a half for undercooked, seasonless food!! The dressing was gooey, undercooked, no flavor. The Mac and cheese taste like Velveeta Mac and cheese with no flavor. The liver and onions, I asked to be covered in gravy and they also had no seasoning or no gravy....just grease!! My daughter's potato wedges were burnt with no seasoning and you get a dry cold cornbread muffin and a cold roll. I was very hopeful that they could redeem their service to me because, I used to come here a few years back, but I stopped because of very poor customer service. I wanted to give them another chance so I could help support them, but it's a no. I just wasted $25 and my throat is sore. I can't even finish the meal, at all.

Very disappointing cabbage rolls. Tomatoe Sauce was watery and potatoes were out of a box. The 'homemade' dressing was worse than Stovetop Stuffing. Our waitress was very good and attentive.
