According to the Google Maps they should be open, but instead they are closed. The hours on Google Maps align with the very strict parking out front, and Buck's apparently only takes credit/debit cards so they can take a hike as far as I'm concerned. I've struck out on two ice cream places today. The first one insisted on flaunting their views on supporting the LGBTQ community and this one only accepts credit/debit which I have, but I prefer to spend cash. I do have to remind myself I'm in a college town so things are a bit weird here. I'm just trying to give my money to a local business, but they're more concerned about social justice or lazily only handling credit/debit cards.
Maybe the best ice cream I've ever had. Of the many varieties, I chose s'mores. My son had Chocolate Monster Mash, which he enjoyed. The wife had Tiger Stripe, which is a fudge ripple with a thicker than typical ribbon of chocolate in the. Of course, the vanilla is colored gold, so it's on brand with the old black and gold! So creamy, the perfect temperature. Added bonus: you can check out the go-mowers and then head on over to the meat market. You can do these things in any order, really. You don't have to do them all. You can just go to Buck's and eat ice cream. Oh, they have a nice display on the wall of the impact Mizzou has had on the I've cream industry, which was pretty informative.
Hadn't been to Bucks for awhile so we took our grandkids for some ice-cream. If you haven't tried Bucks, you should. The history lesson is worth the trip!
I am absolutely ADDICTED to Bucks egg based ice creams (Aka as custards?). Tiger Stripe is a MUST! I buy in large quantities so I can always have it at home. Today they had Cookies and Cream (Egg based, of course the only way to do it IMO) and they knocked it out of the park. A perfect amount of cookies!!!
Great spot for real ice cream on campus.
