Bread Street Kitchen & Bar - Edinburgh

We origionally booked our party of 10 for a family birthday in Feb however due to 2 of us contractng covid including the birthday girl we had to postpone with a £300 charge for cancelling !!Food was excellent however service and attitude of some of the servers was a let down the server who seated us (think his name was Riu )was spot on however was running about doing everything both downstairs and upstairs whilst the other female servers were just dallying around , we waited far too long between courses and had to chase up refils on our drinks ,at one point we could see one of our parties glass of prosecco sitting on bar for over 10 mins waiting to be brought to us ,the bartender saw us looking and poured a fresh one and brought it over..when plates were cleared from our mains we asked for dessert menus and had a long wait before one of the female servers finally came to take our order and I would not rate her customer service at all ! no smile , no sorry for your wait ..in fact she looked like she felt she was doing us a favour by serving us .when we got the bill they had not taken off the £300 we had to pay to rebook however this was quickly rectfied, my husband also told them to remove the extortionate service charge and made sure to give a decent tip personally to only Riu as he was brilliant and as I said run off his feet with very little support from the 3 female servers sauntering around looking bored...unfortunately I would think twice before returning as service counts as much as the food .

Average experience. We've been to several of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants in the United States and always had a fantastic experience. We expected the same from this restaurant but were disappointed. The service was ok. Food was ok, too. The burger was so tough - it was hard to chew. Fish and chips were very good - so if you decide to go, order this dish. For the price that we paid, it was not worth it. Go somewhere else and have a better experience. However, if you're in the States, definitely go to Hell's Kitchen and Gordon's restaurant in Vegas. You'll have a wonderful experience!
