Boxcar Theatre

Boxcar Theatre is a Directors Theatre supporting the concepts and vision of the director. Whether original, adapted, or pre-published, Boxcar productions are bold and ambitious with a flair for the visual and fantastical. Founded in 2005, Boxcar has produced over 60 shows. Known for their unconventional staging, and founded as a site specific theatre, Boxcar has performed on Baker Beach, a moving bus, an abandoned office, a furniture store, parks, actual living rooms, and even museums across the Bay Area (most notably the Fisherman's Wharf Wax Museum). Under the artistic leadership of Nick A. Olivero, Boxcar continues to present and produce at The Palace Theater in San Francisco’s historic North Beach district.
