I love Bourbon Street. As a matter of fact I am writing this because I was looking it up on the hopes I travel back to Texas City soon for whatever reason just to go eat there again. My friends and I who used to work in the plants there used to order from BS when we wanted a real home-cooked meal. The thing is, it's a bar, and they only have if I remember correctly two entrees on any week day, plus whatever sides they are offering, but most of it is really great! And we always got it take out and yes it can take a while to fix so you just order and they tell you it'll be 15 or 20 or 30 mins. They can get very busy around lunch. Their meatloaf and gravy is absolutely out of this world. (A warning, their food is very rich, lots of butter, etc.) But if you're willing to gain a few pounds, try it. Their sides are very homemade and delicious also. Mashed potatoes, blackeyed peas. Mmmmm.
