The Boom Boom Room Tacoma

Came on a Wednesday it started off slow but immediately got full. Food was decent could be better. Miss the old menu. Service tonight was great the best it’s been. She was attentive and friendly and took great care of my party. It’s a small place but worth visiting.

Not impressed. The place has a funky, old school feel, but is very tiny with limited space. My wife and I had two drinks each, no food. The bill came to $70.00. I had a margarita that came in a highball glass filled with ice, maybe an ounce of margarita. My wife had two difference special drinks that were very, very small for the price. Nice atmosphere, but expect to be really overcharged for the drinks.

I sat at the bar, and the service was outstanding. The bartenders were super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is fun, eclectic, and super fun. It also appeared as though the ownership installed acoustic panels along the ceiling, which really tamps down the noise and makes it easy to have a conversation.

So disappointing. Bartenders forgot about our drinks for 20 minutes and didn't even apologize, just said "I don't know what happened". They weren't really dressed for the part, either. Do better.

Great atmosphere and vibe. Food is good and reasonably priced. Service can be a little slow as it is usually pretty busy. Drinks are complex but good.

The superbly crafted drinks are the star at the Boom Boom Room, but the food is just one step behind. Upscale comfort food - we enjoyed a nice steak and a huge portion of a pasta in house made red sauce. The server told us the pasta was made to share and she wasn't kidding - 2 or 3 people can share this for a smaller meal, or have a big meal by adding another dish. Our server was the best combo of old school swagger and service - loved it. The claim to fame here is smoked cocktails, which they do at your table. It's fancy, a bit of show, and everyone around us that had one talked about it - a definite conversation piece. The bartender the night we came in was amazing - fabulous balance to our Old Fashioned and Manhattan. She was low-key watching people's reactions to their drinks, to me that is one sign of a top-notch mixologist. This is the kind of place where you are proud to be known as a regular. Highly recommend.

Bartender choice cocktails are incredibly well made. Food was fantastic. Atmosphere stellar. Happy hour drinks are a great price. Highly recommend this place.
