We took two friends for a special birthday afternoon tea today. We were very happy with everything the cakes were delicious and a beautiful assortment of sandwiches. The young man who looked after us was very attentive and we were well looked after. Thank you

Welcoming staff who could not do enough to ensure one's stay was pleasurable and memorable. The Hall full of history and characters in line with the National trust standards. We will definitely will be returning. Rooms: Furnished with period character and today's comfort. Walkability: Many woodland and open country walks accessable immediately adjacent. The gardens are easily accessible were a delight even in February! Food & drinks: You can expect a high standard of dinning. Also ask to see their vegetarian menu to extend your choice. The pre and post dinning drinks in the lounge, bar and library all perfectly compliment the dinning experience.

A lovely place to stay for the views etc but the venue lacks atmosphere of any kind and if anything we felt almost as if we were imposing with the little notes/rules posted around the place. Whilst we were upgraded to a £600 per night room from our original £400 room we fail to see what was so special about it. Our expectations were probably set to high having enjoyed much more luxurious accommodation for a lot less money. We are happy that we’ve experienced the Hall but wouldn’t do it again . Food & drinks: Having looked at the menu and the reviews we decided not to eat at the Hall. Breakfast was ok.

An exquisitely beautiful place with an interesting and well executed menu, served properly. If you want to go somewhere special and to feel as if your experience matters, its well worth a visit. We've been twice - once for afternoon tea and once for Sunday lunch. For the historic surroundings, great service and excellent food, its good value. The grounds are lovely and an after dinner walk is a great way to roind things off.
