Bobby Van’s Steakhouse

We started with bang bang shrimp, which was crunchy, flavorful, and honestly some of the best bang bang shrimp I’ve ever had. We each had two drinks. I had wine, and my counterpart had Beer. I ordered the filet mignon with a crabcake, and my counterpart ordered an aged ribeye. We also had the asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The filet mignon was buttery, smooth, and flavorful and had a fantastic sauce. I loved every single bite, and I would order that again again. The crabcake was moderate. It didn’t have a ton of flavor and didn’t have a good sear on the outside, so it was fine, but I should’ve just ordered the fillet on its own. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and moist, and the asparagus was perfectly cooked to where it had a little bite but wasn’t wilted. The dry ribeye had a lot of fat on it, which was kind of surprising for being a $70 steak. I think we left about 4 ounces of just fat on the plate, unfortunately. The service was excellent. They did not rush us at all. I felt very welcome here, and I enjoyed the experience.

We really enjoyed this place. We used the Groupon and the food was great. We had the filet, sautéed spinach, Mac and cheese, cheesecake, and chocolate mousse cake. All were very good. Wines were half price on Saturday night. Service was great. I would definitely recommend this place. UPDATE: We went back. Food and service were great. We also tried the creamed spinach and Brussel Sprouts.

Had an excellent time, Great Atmosphere. Fernando our server was the best, he made sure dinner was perfect.

Service wasn't so great. Took a while for the server to bring what I needed. The food was good.

Steak was burnt on the outside. Not seared correctly. Baked potato was overcooked. Apps were OK.

We were in DC for the BIS conference this week and went to Bobby Van's for dinner on Wednesday night. There were 5 of us 4 from NH and 1 from California. The food and atmosphere was awesome. But our waiter Jose was the best. He rocked it! Very friendly and definitely knows the menu and what they taste like. By far the best restaurant I have ever been to! Thank you for an incredible experience and the most delicious food ever! Perfection. I highly recommend Bobby Van's if you are in DC Dianne Leach
