Blackmill Bar and Kitchen

Cme in today to try the new lunch menu. Food was great and excellent value. Soup and macaroni. Decent portions. Will defo be back for lunch. Sat outside I beer garden for a drink after which again was very nice. Place was busy which is always a good sign too.

Unfortunately, our first return visit wasn't good. The food took a long time to arrive. One was about 5 minutes before the other 3 main courses. One of them was wrong so had to be returned which then had to be recooked. The steak pie had 3 very large pieces of fat in it and the pastry was the thinnest I have ever seen. The service was chaotic, they tried to give us someone else's food as well as drinks. After we paid they tried to get us to pay again. The owner asked how our meal was when I tried to explain things weren't great, she went away into the kitchen never to be seen again. As a result we didn't order deserts. We were really disappointed as this was a great place when it was called the Shore and we were regular visitors. Also our previous visit was great as you can see from my review below: Lovely restaurant excellent pub grub freshly prepared. Staff were brilliant, very friendly, and helpful. Would highly recommend. This was the first of many visits, I'm sure.

Popped in a couple of times since it's been taken over and changed name and service has always been top notch. Kirsty (the boss) & Gary who are the owners, are really welcoming and chatty, as were the other staff. Got loaded fries as a wee hangover cure, which were lovely, although I couldn't finish them. Kirsty & Gary are trying really hard to make the pub a success and I wish them all the best. Their efforts cannot be faulted.

Mr saji deserves a raise for his amazing work and excellent talent in cooking I loved the special sauce in that burger!

Great food and a great vibe. Friendly staff and, overall, a great venue. The steak and ale pie is one of the best I have ever tasted. The pictures do not do it justice. Highly recommend. We will be back, soon....
