My husband and I showed up at 345pm on a Tuesday afternoon, we walked in as the Open sign was on - no one greeted us. I spoke to the Hispanic cook and asked if they were open and he stared at me and said nothing. So we left. We went to eat raw oysters at Sugar & Rye instead since the Black Pearl wasn't interested in greeting or serving us.
Rob the bartender made this amazing Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini. 10/10 recommend!
The food was overpriced for just a fried plate of chicken or gator bites. The gumbo was very good. Service was just OK. Was expecting better.
The feed was so delicious! I ordered the shrimp and oysters. I will definitely return.
My husband was craving oysters and found this place. He enjoyed the oysters, they didn't disappoint. I ordered a blackened chicken sandwich and unfortunately I could not eat it. I could not bite into it or chew, it was so rubbery. The waitress was very pleasant, but service was a little slow. She was able to remove the charge for my sandwich and an order of boiled shrimp that we ordered. Beware, if you order the boiled shrimp they come out on ice and are cold, not hot. The menu does not state they are cold. Thankful they didn't charge us for food we didn't eat.
SCRUTINIZE YOUR BILL! We went at happy hour and had the catfish and fish tacos. Everything was fine except for the bill. The two drinks were priced correctly but the apps were priced at about double the HH menu price. I pointed it out and the food server left the table without saying one word. Brought it back and promptly left. I noticed the bill only had one of the two entrees priced at HH prices. I went to the cash register where she had my card in the device ready to run it thru and mentioned the "error" and again a muted response without any concern or apology. Must have thought this tourist wouldn't catch the billing error. I've seen this in other high volume tourist areas so be aware.
