Black Bear Diner Elk Grove

We eat here at least once a week. The food is great! The jumbo biscuits are always fresh and delicious. Everything is always neat and tidy! Never a sticky table or a dirty spoon! The best thing about eating at the Black Bear Diner is the service! Our favorite waitress, Blanca is awesome! She greets us with our favorite beverages upon arrival. She remembers how we like our food, and helps us with any special requests or dietary concerns we might have. She is loved by all. We went in on a rare day off for her and we heard more than one guest request to be sat in her section! She really is a reason to frequent the Black Bear Diner, especially if you have children! Posted the above over 5 months ago, and the same holds true all of these weeks later. Blanca and Black Bear Diner are the best part of our Sunday Mornings! A better server I have NEVER known. Blanca and her efficient service is the number one reason that we return to Black Bear Diner week after week. Her service is amazing. She knows the menu well and can make excellent recommendations, if needed. We are greeted with a smile and a hearty welcome every, single time we see her, without fail. If sincere, friendly service are important to you, this location of Black Bear Diner is the place for you!

Very good, consistently tasty food

Big meals for the price.

We have dined at other Black Bear Diners and love the food, however we were highly disappointed in this restaurant. We walked in and they were busy and were asked if we wanted to sit at the counter, since there were only 2 of us, we were fine with it and didn't have to wait. The hostess told us to just go over to the counter and have a seat. We thought she would bring us menus but she didn't. Not a single employee acknowledged our existence and after 5 minutes of waiting my husband went back to the hostess and asked if we could be sat at a table since no one was helping us. Since we were at the counter we were surrounded by employees picking up food, getting coffee/water and talking. Thankfully the manager was standing there by the hostess and said he would get someone to help us right away and he did. We watched our food sit under the heat lamp for awhile before it was finally delivered the approximate 2 feet to us. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy and there was hardly any gravy on them and had to ask for more. My eggs were cooked perfectly to my liking and my biscuit with gravy was good but my bacon was limp and greasy. Not sure we will ever go back to this Black Bear Diner. I understand they were busy but to not even have an employee say hello or someone will be right with you is very bad customer service. I used to work in the restaurant industry and where I worked that was not acceptable.

Can't go wrong black bear is the place to be especially the breakfast potatoes can't go wrong. Only issue i had over easy eggs and the yolk seemed alil runny could have cooked more but other than that will do. Oh and the creamy cheesy grits hmm yea stay away.

Good place for lunch with lots of variety on the menu. Fairly typical diner fare.

Food was delicious for breakfast. Waitress was nice and accommodating. Prices on expensive side but that can be expected in today's economy.

The waitress was Rude.Not helpful. The Sandwich was soggy lettuce was full of grease.
