La Bou Bakery & Cafe

Great place. Love the creamy dill dressing and the her vinaigrette. Prices are reasonable. Other things I have tried: Chicken salad (Asian or sesame) has a light but flavorful dressing. All their salads are filling. I recommend getting the house with the creamy dill and the herb dressing and a scoop of tuna! The thai chicken soup (not spicy in my opinion) is great and not thick, but full of flavor - great for a cold spring morning or winter. Oh and their ginger cookies are to die for if you like that sort of thing - yummy! Okay whose hungry?

[ update 2023.12.06 My wife and I have been coming here since they open many years ago. I want to take this opportunity to give a special shout out to an employee named Niko. In the last few months every time we've been here, the service by Niko has been stellar. Far above anything that I've ever had in La Bou before. Further, Niko is on top of his game. Not only does Niko take care of the customers immediate needs, he cleans up and he's very friendly and this makes our visits very pleasant. ] That's one of my favorite places to go especially for coffee and iced tea. Also the food is very healthy and delicious I'll be in a bit pricey. Make sure you get there before 1:30 though because the staff starts cleaning up things and putting chairs away and you're going to be limited as far as where you can sit. Also, If you arrive after 2:30 expect to get your food in a to-go bag with plastic utensils even if you're going to eat at the tables that are there outside.

The employees that work here are some of the best in elk Grove. They clearly love their jobs and value the people that come in, whether they are delivery drivers or customers. If you go to this location and this restaurant, I can guarantee good food and even better I can guarantee you'll leave feeling like you were wanted there. I can't recommend this place enough, if good service and good food are not enough, the parking is always great as well. I don't know what the manager is doing here, but I can tell you the employees seem happy and that's always really important to me. Also, they have delicious pastries, which is a big bonus.
