No cards is completely outrageous . You have to have apple pay. Cashapp or cash. I said I would never come back. Once I ate the food I said dang I will just bring cash. The food is that great. I live 30 minutes and will be inconvience because the food is that good. The service is uhggg and the atmosphere the same. The food is delicious.
Food was excellent...very busy.
Fried pork chop was on point, as usual. The butter beans are more like a soup and have so much flavor, as did the cabbage. Sweet tea is sweet, but that’s how it’s supposed to be made. ❣️
Perfect Southern Cooking! I will be eating there a lot more frequently. I almost cried. Just like my mommas cooking and it don't get any better than that!
This is a very awesome and authentic southern soul food restaurant. One of those hard to find spots at only locals know about
Food was just ok. Pork chop was fresh and breading was good. It and the sweet tea earned the two stars. Mac and cheese was a mushy mess. Lima beans lacked salt and beans it was mainly just juice. Red rice was dry and lacked seasoning and corn bread was dense. Staff were not welcoming at all! I did not enjoy the experience or the food. I would recommend looking else where I’m sure Charleston has better to offer than this. I wish I hadn’t wasted my one Charleston meal here.
This unassuming local favorite has a homey country diner atmosphere, delivered in a meat and three format (an entree plus two sides and a rice dish). I can unequivocally recommend their crab balls - they were delicious! On Saturdays they have a fried seafood platter that is full stop amazing, you get a ton of great food (crab balls, scallops, fish, oysters, shrimp) that is relatively inexpensive!
