I usually order from Berries Market every Ramadan for my family. This time when I ordered (online and paid online as well), my father went to pick up the order. When he got there, the person in the kitchen told him he didn't receive any order. My father showed him the online receipt, and then they proceeded to prepare the order. After he came back, I noticed the portion was smaller than what I ordered. When I reached out to customer service, I received terrible treatment. I simply requested that they just refund me back the difference since I received less than what I paid for. I even told them that I didn't mind the incorrect order as accidents happen as long as I get the proper refund. I wasn't expecting this much pushback and religious gaslighting especially when I had pictures of the order. They argued with my father (who is 75 y/o) and disrespected him when he went back to get the refund. I love supporting local businesses, however, this kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially disrespecting the elderly. Unfortunately, I do not want to go back after being treated this way.

The owner is reluctant to accept any facts and lacks every empathy if an order were to go wrong due to his store’s incompetence. He will assume you’re committing forgery even though receipts and pictures are provided as proof of evidence. On top of that, he will further build his false narrative by using religion against you such that somehow you will feel guilty and that his establishment can never error or do any wrong. Update based on the owner’s response: the owner’s response further emphasizes the context of this original review. Who knows where he gets his facts from, simply delusional. Facts are based on proofs and evidences, not circumstantial heresy. We did not have any previous encounters with the owner or store. And, it was my father, who is in his mid-70’s, that had this only encounter with this establishment as described in this review. By the way, there are businesses who have deservingly received 5-star reviews, it’s just that I don’t hand out 5-stars so lightly.
