Perfect! Food was delicious and service was great!!
This review is for breakfast and brunch only. My wife and I stayed at the Kimpton for three nights. For additional $20/night breakfast vouchers are included. Here is what we found. Atmosphere: A beautiful dining environment that would usually be associated with good service and food. Service: 2/3 mornings we had awkward experiences being seated. One time we were asked to wait 10-15 minutes for a table to be ready while there were plenty open. The other time we were asked to wait while they cleaned a table. Insert us awkwardly looking at an empty restaurant full of open tables….only to be seated next to the only other patron in the facility….way in the back corner. Wait staff seems to be new. Many are unfamiliar with menu and special requests. We had to get approval to make changes to an omelette. LOL. Waited longer than needed for water, coffee, or to place orders. Food: Big room for improvement on plating. Chicken (dry)and waffles came out looking a wreck. Omelette resembled a scramble and was over cooked. Side of over easy eggs had punctured yoke and overcooked. Smoked salmon is served on 2” thick “toast”, more like bread, and loaded with salmon making it difficult to eat. good pancakes. Decent lobster roll.
I absolutely loved it here. Came in for my birthday, I've had this restaurant on my list for quite some time now. We ordered the cheese board and the smoked beef tartar for apps. I ordered the elk entree for myself, my buddy got the bison. The smoked beef tartar was awesome. I generally always have to hit it with salt and pepper at most restaurants, but this was properly spiced. I gotta say, I think this is my new favorite place for that. Previously, it was at White Horse. The cheese board was also pretty good. We got 3 cheeses and the sausage, pate, and duck rillete. They were all good, but I prefer my pate in pate form. This was more like a loaf, so it wasn't as silky as the standard stuff. Omg. The elk entree was amazing. It came with roasted carrots and parmesan polenta. It was like a pot roast, but with elk. All of the flavors were perfectly season. I didn't use salt at all during this meal! And I'm usually a salty girl, lol. They gave me a free dessert for my birthday. Can't remember what it was called, but it tasted like a deconstructed baklava with ice cream. It was delicious. Anyways, I would recommend this place to anyone! I'll have to go back someday to try the trout.
Excellent brunch spot. Very good shrimp & grits; the griddled coffee cake is amazing. Great service and atmosphere.
While we didn't end up dining here, I'm giving our experience at Bambara 5 stars anyway on service alone. My son and I went down for breakfast and found that both servers called in sick. There was only one person on staff waiting on everyone, which was about 10 tables that came in at the open all at once. She did an amazing job getting to everyone, including us. We unfortunately had to leave, though, as I had a tight timeline and didn't have the extra time to wait around. We thought the menu looked solid, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. We are definitely giving this place another shot the next time.
Came here for brunch with some friends. This restaurant is located in the H of tel Monaco, and it's most easily accessed through the hotel front door then straight down the hall. The staff were all extremely friendly and personable. The menu contained a decent variety, and all of the ingredients tasted extremely fresh and high-rate. Also, the martinis were delicious
