My boyfriend and I were at the zoo across the street and we saw their sign that said gluten free and vegan bakery. I had the gluten free chocolate chip brownie, and gluten free cake pop. It was so delicious! The next time I come to D.C. I'm definitely stopping by.
Being a vegan Jew is not always the easiest when it comes to enjoying our various dishes such as challah. I have searched for a very long time to find a place that provides the perfect pairing of deliciousness while meeting my dietary restrictions. Well, I have to search no further as Baked By Yael goes above and beyond my wildest hopes. The challah here is so good that I have it shipped cross-country on a monthly basis.

Yummmm and nut free so nice
Everything bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese!!! Absolutely delicious.
Was on a recent trip to DC and had just purchased some yogurt from the store next-door and was looking to buy some cookies for my mother and was told that no outside food was allowed well how am I supposed to purchase food if I’m in your store and you’re telling me that I can’t come in without food. I’m not in there to stay and eat. I was in there to buy so I politely walked out. My friend had just purchased something ahead of me said that her Pastry was nasty so do not recommend nasty attitude of the staff as well.
Very frustrating place. Tried to buy a challah but no, you can only buy if you are a repeating preorderer. Tried to buy a babka but told no, don’t have any, should have reserved online. Tried to buy rugelah but told no, they don’t have any. I am not someone so organized as to buy/reserve ahead online and then pick up. I expect to walk into a store and be able to buy their merchandise. I did luck out once to buy a challah and it was delicious. But hey guys, I cannot join your precious “club” and do your required online ahead to score your products. Too bad. A pity. I give up!!!
they are very rude! l just asked them toasted bagel but refused tost and the girl on the cashier desk was not friendly
I loved their raspberry and chocolate baked goods. They were fantastic. But the bagels were not the best I’ve had. A little tough to chew and weren’t particularly fresh for the price. However, the comment that the individual G.R. made about the “ghetto” music is ironic. How can you call yourself a Jew and make a despicable comment like that? Particularly when the word “ghetto” was first used in the holocaust…? Have we fallen that far from the grace of G-d? Shaking my head. Stick to using your words more wisely as a representative of the “chosen” people. You never know who is watching. 🧐
Asked the cashier what was the salmon salad and she replies: I “hear” it’s like tuna salad. The bagel was burnt and tasted like old bread, also the bagels are way smaller when comparing to other bagel shops.
Cake pops are good, the fake meat is utterly inedibly disgusting. The veggie bagel was nice.
