Super great spot solid menu big portions
I applied the bagel café for a dishwasher job had an interview Owner said we’ll try it out. I work three hours. And was told they would call me and was told I would be paid. I never was paid and never was called. Waited months and months called numerous of times to try and get paid I even showed up in person and a lady at the front was very rude also to mention if you’re thinking of going to the bagel café should know that the cakes are store-bought during short time working with the bagel café they ran out of fishcakes so one of them ran to the store and got frozen fishcakes. I should mention that pancakes come in a bag they’re not there there are premade and sent in a bag same with their bagels, they don’t make bagels there. They also come back from the store called the bagel café. If you don’t make your own bagels. I tried asking myself that many times. I’ll never go back.
Having seen reviews to this restaurant, I wanted to try the toutons. In my opinion, it was similar to a deep fried dough. It did give a good complimentary texture to the savory bean and crispy bacon. I would rate the presentation 10/10. However, the quality is 8/10. Fruits were fresh and plentiful. The service was great and attentive. I went after the busy lunch service (2pm) and was served no more than 10 minutes of ordering. Would recommend a try! Dietary restrictions: Has a variety of options for all types of dietary restrictions. Kid-friendliness: Although I haven't seen a kids' menu but normal options would satisfy their tastes.
I liked the food potions here for the prices. The service was on point they were very understanding and patient with my order. The atmosphere was not of my personal preference as it is a little dark and the walkways are pretty narrow. But everything else was great! (Breakfast waffles were amazing!)
This was a cute place to drop by and have dinner. The table wasn't very clean, and the booth was quite uncomfortable. Service was ok, but not very friendly.
The Canadian Breakfast was HUGE, the stack of bacon, I couldn't eat all of it, perfectly fried eggs, real ham, one huge sausage, homemade bread, and a load of Hashbrowns. I'd give it an 11 out of 10. My wife had the homemade fish cake, Touton, baked beans, and bacon. She also couldn't finish it. Amazing atmosphere and lots of stuff on the walls to look at.
Awesome atmosphere, service, and food.♡
Amazing local Newfoundland breakfast oriented restaurant. Highly recommended if visiting downtown St. John's, interesting decor, huge portions, and not bad pricing for a treat meal out.
