Atwater's Catonsville

I’ve been a regular Atwater’s patron for years but lately, so disappointed. Went out of my way to stop here yesterday to pick up special lunch for me and my 92 year old aunt. Sundays are busy, so I grabbed soup, chicken salad from cold case, baked goods and waited for the arugula and bacon salad.that took forever. Sadly, the salad was not arugula, it was slimy, wilted kale…gross. Do better, in the meantime I’ll think twice before coming back.

Good food and good customer service but the place is congested and really small. I felt suffocated

I went into Atwater’s at 11:00 am on a Sunday. I asked the hostess if I could grab some coffee and food and go upstairs to work. She informed me Monday-Saturday that would work but Sunday the coffee shop was more of a brunch place so if I wasn’t going to eat brunch I was “ welcome to find a place to work”. I then asked her if there any other coffee shops around that would let me work and she directed me to Starbucks. I am a paying customer and she made me feel dismissed without making any effort to help me out. I didn’t even get to try the coffee or food. I will not return because I was not treated with respect, which is a shame because I’m an English teacher and I’m always looking for new places to grade.

Wonderful place to get great quality coffee, tasty food, and a welcoming atmosphere for either quieter coworking or chill meals / coffee with friends. This is my favorite of all the Atwater's locations. Easy to get to from UMBC. Downstairs has music and lots of activity, upstairs is spacious, lots of natural lighting, and a little quieter. Usually full! I used to love the Scottish pie most on the menu, but the past few times I got it, it had a TON of spinach (not my favorite) - I thought it was a mistake and that I got the wrong one the first time, so I was careful to clearly indicate I wanted the chicken one the second time. But I still got a very spinach-y one. I'm bummed about that, since it used to be my go-to lunch order. But the place still has excellent coffee and I can figure out my new favorite foods over time.

The pastries are delicious! But, not a fan of the other food (sausage, egg, etc).

I love Atwater’s. It’s my jam. Love the fresh breads and soups. Coffee and tea selection is great. I just wish they had more vegan options! . We want more than one soup! Vegan mayo and vegan cheese for the vegetarian menu items would be amaaaaaaazing!

I hosted my sisters baby shower in their brand new upstairs event space! It was perfect! Natasha went out of her way to ensure everything was set up perfectly and even created signature cocktail menu for our guests. She was highly responsive during our emails and served us well on the day of. The food options were lovely and fairly priced. Highly recommend for your next event!

Major props for treating gluten free bread as the half-sized slices they are. This is the first place I've been to that spreads the sandwich contents across two small sandwiches. Every other place either attempts to stuff the insides onto puny slices (rarely) or more likely, simply gives you less. In those places, not only are you paying through the nose for GF bread, but you then get less food for the privilege. NOT SO at Atwater's. On top of delicious creations, you also get generous servings and can enjoy your meal like anyone else. Coincidentally had two meals in 3 days here and will be back! Dietary restrictions: GF
