All lovely - sorry it was raining, but that wasn't their fault!
We (3) arrived for Afternoon Tea on Easter Saturday. A predictably busy time, on a sunny afternoon. The staff were darting around trying keep as many visitors happy as possible. We did have to wait some minutes before being given a table, including reminding the staff member that we had arrived before others he was trying to attend to. After sitting down, there was a further delay in being given menus. Once we'd chosen, we waited for the teas (one Vegetarian, two standard). In time they arrived and were nicely presented. We ordered two Flat Whites and one pot of tea to go with our food. One coffee was missing from the order, so I reminded the waiter. After waiting more time, no coffee was provided. A third attempt finally worked although no sugar was offered or provided. I had to ask for it and it arrived later. It did seem that more floor-staff was needed when holiday weekends guarantee that attendance will be considerably higher. In our experience on Saturday, we would be morel likely to choose a quieter time to return. Vegetarian options: A selection of dishes are offered, including Afternoon Tea, although I cannot personally vouch for their content, not having tried them.
Ismael was extremely polite and good waiter, Thankyou for lovely experience
Food and service excellent and in a fabulous Oxford institution.
Beautiful cream tea and the staff are very kind.
Beautiful place for a quiet lunch. Food good. Service by Matheus was excellent.
I had a lovely lunch at the rooftop restaurant (handmade asparagus and ricotta tortelloni). The staff were attentive and friendly. Our waiter was Matheus and he was very helpful and efficient.
