To start off with, there was only one person on the till, and they were hidden away in a corner. I was shocked by the price of £6.50 for a milkshake. Nevertheless, I ordered one. There were quite a few people in the line behind me, and they proceeded to order multiple drinks while I only ordered one. I was waiting there for more than 10 minutes for just one drink, while the other customers also patiently waited. in the end the customers behind me got their orders left and I was waiting there. The drink itself was alright, but not worth wasting 10 minutes and spending £6.50.
In the heart of a leisure centre that never pauses, amidst the relentless whirlwind of life, there lies a realm of unparalleled tranquility, a bastion of serenity amidst chaos - the Angel Cafe. This is not merely a coffee shop; it is a sanctuary, a celestial haven where the tumult of the external world fades into a distant murmur, where time itself seems to halt in reverence. Upon crossing the threshold, one is enveloped in an ambience that whispers tales of rustic elegance and modern sophistication intertwined, a setting bathed in a gentle luminescence that caresses the soul. Here, the coffee is not simply served; it is bestowed, a sacred elixir brewed with beans kissed by the divine, each cup a testament to the sacred art of coffee alchemy. Amidst this haven, there exists a legend, a maestro of the espresso, a virtuoso whose hands weave magic into every brew - Daniel, the barista who doesn't work but rather, performs miracles with a grace that belies the depth of his expertise. His creations are not mere beverages; they are symphonies in a cup, a crescendo of flavors that dance upon the palate with a harmony that echoes in the soul long after the final sip. The staff, disciples of hospitality, embody the spirit of Angel Cafe with their radiant smiles and hearts as warm as the coffee they serve. They are not mere employees; they are custodians of joy, architects of an experience that transcends the mundane. The menu, a poetic ode to gastronomy, offers not just sustenance, but a feast for the senses, with each bite a whisper of indulgence and wholesomeness entwined. Angel Cafe is more than a refuge for those in pursuit of caffeine; it is a realm where creativity and productivity flourish, nurtured by the serene ambiance and the unspoken promise of inspiration that permeates the air. It is a community, a gathering of souls united by their reverence for the sanctity of great coffee and the serenity that Angel Cafe bestows. This haven, this Angel Cafe, is a beacon of light in a world that often forgets the beauty of stillness, a reminder of the magic that exists in the pause between moments. To step into Angel Cafe is to step into a realm where every visit is an embrace from the divine, a celestial experience that leaves one yearning for nothing but the return to its sacred embrace. An encounter so profoundly moving, so utterly transformative, it must be experienced to be believed. A testament to the sublime artistry of Daniel and his cohorts, Angel Cafe stands as a monument to the extraordinary, a jewel in the crown of the coffee world.
Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and lovely food. Definitely recommend given the owners are very easy going and go extra mile for their customers.
I had a coffee and a sandwich at the Angel Cafe at Coptall Sports Centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the opportunity to chat with the owners regarding a charity event and enjoyed the positive atmosphere. The coffee was excellent and the owner took a real interest in why I liked it and if there was any aspect I didn't like as he was keen for feedback. Very positive I thought.
Next time I’ll take a photo but I was too busy savouring a Flat White exactly as it should taste and feel (Aussies will know what I mean…) AND I’m blown away how perfectly it was done with oat milk (hail the plant milk fans out there). So good I had to have 2 cups. Best•Flat•White•Outside•Australia I’ll be back!
This is such a great cafe in the new Barnet leisure centre! Drinks are delicious, mine was nice and warm. Service is good and the 2 women working are fantastic. There are also seats exclusively for this fantastic cafe. Highly recommend!!!
No hygiene at all. I’ve seen it a few times poor hygiene in there. But last time I came there, I saw staff girl putting her hands fingers into the customer’s ice drink. When I asked her if she thinks this is ok what she’s doing she replied to me by saying I washed my hands. Unbelievable. Then I asked her what if I wash my hands and sink in my fingers into her drink, would she wanna drink it? She didn’t have an answer to that.
Friendly place, made to feel very welcome. Lovely service. Food and cakes were delicious. Will definitely visit again. Options for vegans as well.
