What a treasured gem in St. Louis! We had a fantastic meal and great staff, Gary and James. Enjoyed the history lesson and fabulous fresh made table side Cesar salad and bananas foster. Steak and lobster are a must! Dietary restrictions: Appreciated them accommodating my gluten dietary restrictions.
Read the negative reviews - they are spot-on. Will never go again nor recommend.
Went for our anniversary. Great experience. Food and service were excellent . Would recommend the New York strip. Tons of history and a very knowledgeable staff.
Worst ever!! I won't be back. James N. Is the worst waiter. Food was over cooked (filet and strip) and for over $500 spent there last night for 3 persons with drinks, the service is horrible. Can't even get an espresso or cappuccino in Missouri's or "fine dining" restaurant. What a joke!
The pride in ownership and in the restaurants rich history is astonishing!! I would recommend Al’s to anyone wanting a special evening
Waiter was just rude. Food was just ok, way overpriced. Fine dinning?????? Went to a lot of fine dinning restaurants.......this is not fine dinning. Not going there again.
You have to pay in advance for a reservation. Feel like you're in jail because you're not leaving without paying whether you order or not. Food was not hot and bland. Old timey atmosphere snooty manager inexperienced servers. Way too expensive for what you receive. I will NEVER go again. Years ago it was awesome but today it totally sucks
great food, great service, best NY Strip in STL, delicious Cajun pasta! A must try!
My wife and I went to Al’s last night for our anniversary. The food was top notch. The service, second to none and the atmosphere is like nothing we have ever experienced. Go to Al’s, plan on getting to know your date better over a 3-4 hour intimate dinner while being treated like royalty. Expensive and worth it. Will be back for special occasions.
