Interesting tour of Alexander Keith's original brewery plus you get tasters of the small batch brews that are only available in Nova Scotia. Fantastic. Knowledgeable and friendly tour guides.
We were in town on business when my friend surprised me with a tour and kitchen party at Alexander Keith's. I am not a beer drinker, but I have to say, this was a fabulous tour. The building is amazing, the tour guide was lovely, we made friends with our entire group and had a blast at the kitchen party. I cannot remember the beer that had the coffee infusion-it was a dark ale, anyways, it was superb. I am sad that they do not sell this particular beer in Ontario. I look forward to returning one day when we visit Halifax again.
What a fantastic tour! We enjoyed so much! So much enthusiasm by the 'actors', they really seem to enjoy their job! The history and story is so interesting (even though I don't drink beer). 100% recommend!
Best ever tour!!!! Loved the staff, the beers and the music!!!! Thanks so much :)
In the summer I booked a private tour there for a bachelorette and the tour was ABOVE AND BEYOND what we could have expected! We were greeted in the final tasting room by a trio of ladies singing old sea shanties in 3 part harmony and we legit all cried. Wholesome people who care clearly work here and it was such a vibeeeee! Can’t wait to go back!!!
A piece of Nova Scotia history and it's brewery history (drinks and songs inclusive)
Blown away with this tour. Fast paced, educational, every staff member was so proud to work there. Honestly maybe a top 3 brewery tour in the entire world.
I would recommend booking this in advance if you can, because spaces fill up! The tour of Alexander Keith's brewery was well-paced and very informative. One of the things I really liked about how they've organised the tour is that from the very first room, you have a sampler glass of beer in your hand. I prefer this to a lot of other brewery tours I've done worldwide where you spend a long time walking from room-to-room in the factory and only get to taste the beers at the very end. Another interesting feature of the tour is that it isn't the same guide who takes you around the factory, they hand over from guide to guide during the experience. The highlight of course is the culmination of the tour in the Stag's Head pub where the staff put on a fantastic ceilidh with song, dance and of course, plenty of beer! It was really well done and felt authentic. For the non-drinkers there were non-alcoholic items on offer but I think this tour is best for those who want to try some beers. Would definitely recommend!
