Ada's on the River

Absolutely delicious foods with impeccable and friendly service. Sit outside; it’s gorgeous!!

5 star view of the river and scenic location. The interior is beautiful and bright and both seats are comfortable. Had a wonderful grilled shrimp and avocado salad and a mango passion fruit ice tea. They had some dairy free options for me. Highly recommend this as a lunch place!

1st time here. We went for our 37th wedding anniversary. Place is bright and modern looking. We started with drinks. I had the lavender fields Martini and my husband had a glass of malbec. For my entrée I had the scallops 🤤 and my husband had the 14oz NY strip. All sides are alacart $$$. We shared the hash brown potato. For dessert I had the chocolate souffle 🤤 and my husband had the almond joy cake. Dinner was very nice with the river view.

Abbey was attentive, personable, and friendly! Loved the ambience and the food was delicious. We will be back to taste more of the menu!

A perfect setting, table for two on the patio with close up views of the Potomac. Great service and a delicious breakfast of eggs, fingerling potatoes and toast. We split a wonderful salad of butter lettuce, orange slices, almond slivers, avocado chunks and grilled shrimp. I was served with a lemon vinaigrette. Ada’s is our go to out door eating venue in Alexandria. To get a great table, especially on a holiday weekend, we get there early!!

A favorite, Anniversary dinner. Service, staff, ambiance and food with the exception of the daily special ribeye cap (overcooked and under seasoned, over priced) was great as usual. Ada's remains a 'go to' for a great Old Town dining experience.

Ada's commands a great waterfront view, excellent service, and truly I did not have any complaints about the taste of food--it is not the best in the area, but it was well seasoned, well cooked, just not super sophisticated. For a casual lunch we had the crab cakes, hanger steak, brioche, asparagus, sweet potatoes. However, the price point and value compared to other restaurants in the area leaves much to be desired. All the entrees had no sides, all sides were a la carte, with a truly miniscule portion which did not satisfy the prices listed. I'm a local used to fine dining, so keep in mind I am comparing to other fine dining establishments; you just can't help but feel that Ada's can do better. It is obvious patrons return for the view, and that is fine, but I don't understand why you can't offer a bit more value for the enjoyment of your patrons. Other restaurants in the area serve American-style plating with sides sharing the plate for the full enjoyment of the meal. I would recommend those places instead.

1st time there. Birthday dinner for my wife. Food was exceptional. Smoked swordfish, roasted asparagus, curried sunchokes. All were amazing. Cooked to perfection, and wonderful seasoning and sauces. Rock was our server. He is a real professional, and made the evening very special. Great recommendations on menu and wines. Timing was on point t and we never felt rushed. Topped off with a birthday soufflé. It was magic. Can’t wait to return.

A bit overrated but a beautiful view of the Potomac. Sit by a window for maximum benefit.

A delightful dinner with friends with a well prepared meal. The food was delicious portions were such that there was little wasted food on the plates and that chocolate dessert at the end was...oh my heavens! My only small thing is our table was bumped quite a few times by another server.
