Absolutely horrible. Go elsewhere.
WARNING: If you have a clothing mishap and your friend goes into the stall with you to fix it, the bar will IMMEDIATELY kick you out, no warning, no explanation.
Worst queer bar I've ever been to. How dead it was on a Friday night should've clued me in, but we wanted to give it a chance. Stepped into the bathroom to fix my shirt, and upon exiting, were escorted by security to the front door and kicked out. If it hadn't been for a nice stranger who asked the security guard why we were being kicked out, we never would've known.
Wish we would've read the reviews before we came here. If you're disabled or need help or are POC, beware!
Mostly danced upstairs, great music, so much queer energy, so hype, felt very safe. Green flag is they have water out upstairs and downstairs, which felt like they actually care about the wellbeing of the people inside. Will be back.
If I could give this place less than zero stars, I most certainly would.
In the month of February when I visited this bar, I was jumped and attacked by a group of black women at League of Her Own Bar. And since then this bar has done NOTHING to assist me after my attack. Let me tell you my story:
On this night, I came into this bar and was immediately hassled by the bouncer to leave my entire purse by the door. This I found to be very weird and suspicious. I saw several other bar patrons there with their own purses yet I was being told I couldn't carry mine?
I tried to look past this and then sat myself at a table for a drink. A group of people, mostly black women were sitting behind me. They then began to harass and annoy me and then they went outside. A couple of them returned and continued to harass me some more, then proceeded to jump and attack me. I was by myself. The bartenders and bouncer saw this go down and didn't bother to stop or help me until the last minute. They separated the fight and threw my attackers outside. During the altercation I had lost my phone. I had a bruised eye, bleeding in the face (the bouncer HERSELF told me this) and the room was so dark all I wanted was to find my phone. The bar tender said in a fake tone "I'll help ya hun", but quit helping me search after only 10 seconds. Then the bouncer said I needed to leave. "You're bleeding in the face I gotta kick you out" she said with her own words and she threw me outside.
Me, the victim of the attack, was thrown outside along with my attackers, who were waiting for me outside there.
As she threw me outside, she locked the bar door behind me so I had no way of going back in to protect myself. I should also mention that the bar owner herself was also a black woman, so maybe this bar just has a thing for supporting aggression from its own community (and during Black History Month, what a coincidence.)
Let my story be a warning to all: do NOT visit this bar. League of Her Own will apparently allow just anybody to be attacked and then their bar tenders will make it certain to subject you to further horrific treatment by throwing you outside without any bother to aid in medical assistance or calling the police. They have no problem leaving your life at risk, and with no means to protect yourself in the first place (my mace spray was in my purse and could have easily been retrieved had I not had my purse taken away by the bouncer).
League of Her Own is a sham of a business and does not give a damn about their LGBT community or their black community as they claim to. If you want a place that provides a safe fun environment and if you care about your life and well-being, DO NOT COME TO THIS BAR!!!!
Went here to celebrate little sister. Not a great place for celebrating a bachelorettes or birthday as they make you take off you sashes, headbands, and other fun items you attach to yourselves for those types events. The drinks are strong though. Staff wasn't very welcoming.
Very loud and obnoxious place. I’d like to say maybe I came at an odd time, but the second time I came here the music and noise was quite unbearable.
The toilets were trash and disgusting. I dunno if someone spilled a sugary drink or what but my shoes kept sticking to the floor as I walked. Take this review as you will, but I got a sense that this bar isn’t as LGBTQIA+ as they claim to be.
Great food and friendly service.
