Ordered a sandwich and a side, took almost 30 minutes.. not during their peak time. Food was incredibly greasy and oily.
I recently was hired here and the owner threatened my job on my second day. He hadn't onboarded me or filed any paperwork so I left. Prior to leaving, I researched employment laws and discovered it is illegal to hire someone without onboarding. He told me upon hiring me that the first shift was to “try things out” and I would be hired afterwards and paid for my time. On the second day, after being hired without sufficient paperwork, he threatened my job when I had trouble completing tasks I hadn’t been trained to do. The majority of his staff all started at the same time and he is significantly understaffed. All the employees are very nice but under appreciated. Only 3-4 employees are in the kitchen, including the owner, despite how busy the shop gets. Lots of cross contamination and cleanliness issues as well. I do not recommend supporting this business. I submitted a review on indeed and it was removed. Another previous review mentioned the owner's racism but was also taken down. I did finally get my payment after asking the owner for it several times.
I've seen the shop on my runs to Common Market and it always looks busy, so I ordered lunch for pickup. I ordered the cheese steak, burger, and tomato cheese soup. All we're awful. The proteins were cooked to death, and nothing to add moisture to the sandwiches. Just dry meat with little flavor and a lot of bland powdery bread. The soup was the worst tomato soup I've ever tasted. It had so much sugar, muddy processed flavor, and a weird texture. The service was friendly, albeit chaotic.
The sandwiches were delicious!! All on homemade rolls, portions were good, handcut fries were good, and I loved the cornmeal type hushpuppies.
The food is always good, I highly recommend their salads. The black and blue is especially tasty, a fun combination of ingredients. The corn relish is delightful.
I'm a disabled person and I have needed to stop by the doctors, I didn't want cheap food so I stopped by. I found the whole place rather accessible except for one table placed in a little strange position. The food was delicious. I had a longboard chicken pesto. for long board. chicken pasta was a bit heavier than I expected but still delicious. The fries were great and the lady was kind enough to bring me some mustard. if I'm in town I will definitely eat again. the whole place look clean and everybody was pleasant. The music was '70s '80s and the whole place had a sort of feel of a early '90s resource room. it was actually strangely pleasing All in all I would eat here again and try a few other things that they've got!!!!
One of my favorite stops in Frederick
Some of the best sandwiches and salads in the frederick area!
