We , my husband & I, dined with Pan fried Oyster & Grilled Brussel sprout .The price was over average for the type of Cafe and Bistro type. Brussel sprout was sweet. Service was ok.
Fresh, delicious, kind attentive staff, and it's so cute in there. If you're not eating breakfast here, you're truly missing out.
Food was good BUT potions were small If you want big portions I'd suggest the LOOSE CABOOSE down the street For $2 more you get a huge chicken fried steak meal. More than you can eat. Onto my review about 42nd st cafe... My bill was $31 I gave the server $40 and he never came back with the change. I had a $10 bill waiting for him on the table but I took it back thinking he kept the change. After speaking with the owner and the server it was a mishap. Apparently the server was busy seating other guests and I had left before he came back with the change.. Here's is a useful tip (if you want a tip) Always return with the change immediately.. evening that means making other guests wait a minute or two to be seated.
Busy breakfast spot but managed to get a table right away wait time less that 5 minutes. Fast service. I got a vegetarian omelette with potatoes(well seasoned), sourdough bread & a thin slice of orange. Their homemade jam was glorious. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian omellette Parking: Limited space, maybe 10 or so
Won’t be back. Very unwelcoming vibe, 4 razor clams and a few small red potatos…no one asked about refills for the price I’ll take my money and go somewhere that makes me feel welcome.
Wow!!! What a change from your normal breakfast destination. Amazing food and amazing service. My quiche was incredible and my husband’s chicken fried steak was the best we’ve had. We even got another side of toast just to have some more of their signature jam. We will be back.
Wow, the food is amazing. The 8 hour roast beef was surprisingly excellent for breakfast. Service was great. Do yourself a favor and order something with toast so you can try the Marion Berry jam, best jam of my life.
You would not believe it if I told you, you must try it for yourself,
