Great food and service. Even though it is usually crowded, it is never too loud to talk.
I informed our server I was allergic to both wheat and dairy, was told extra precautions would be taken, and was brought a kale salad full of croutons. I couldn't eat anything on the plate because of the bread. Dietary restrictions: They talk a good game but do not respect dietary restrictions at all.
When I realize I was coming to Asheville several weeks ago, I made up my mind to eat a 231 main. And we did, had been more that ten years that I have been there, but to my surprise everting at the restaurant was just as good or much better. Things on menus repaint from years ago. It is a place that I can spend $200.00 for two and be happy that I came with my lady. It was a very great meal and everyone was nice and very helpful
We had a group of 10 including 3 kids under 5. My son called for a reservation and Feliz Nesbitt (1 of the managers) set us up and made it flawless for us. Our server Cole was amazing. Feliz went above and beyond to make sure we were set with food and drinks . She kept checking up on us and making suggestions as well with food. She made the atmosphere inviting and we felt welcomed. The food was amazing. We tried tuna stack, grilled artichokes, cornbread and the double dip for starters. The Littles had hotdogs & cheeseburgers. Adults had ahi tuna salad, prime rib sandwich, grilled chicken, the special halibut and all was amazing. For dessert we had strawberry shortcake and banana cream pie. All drinks from tequila, margarita, espresso martini and coffees to top off and no complaints all praise. Thank you to Feliz Nesbitt, Cole and the whole team for making our dinner special. Dietary restrictions: We had a gluten-free person in our group. Cole our waiter made several options and she was pleased with the choices. Parking: We didn't have a problem with parking. Kid-friendliness: They don't have a kids menu but they do give suggestions. Kids cheeseburger, hotdogs, grill cheese and pasta
The food was delicious! And martinis were sooo good! The staff was very nice & professional too.
Service is always amazing! Bar staff rocks
I just ate and had the best service and the best food of my life. Charles and Dana are absolutely amazing at what they do.
Very loud You’ll have a great meal and great service but don’t count on conversations
Edit: went to 131 Main again last night for my daughter’s birthday. (It’s her favorite spot). Service was top notch. Small mishap with steaks being overcooked, (2) were eaten but one was pretty close to well done. The server took it back without hesitation, the manager came out to speak with us, offered an app while the steak was re-cooked (I think the grill guy was getting beaten up as it was pretty busy), no charge for the steak and free dessert. None of this was necessary as we are former F&B workers (and our daughter is working as a server to help pay her way through college) so we totally understand. This was an effort over and above to deliver a great dining experience. Well done 131 Main. We’ve been here a few times and the food is always really good. Pricing is in line with the quality of the food. Last night was our daughter’s graduation dinner and we had 12 people. They can only accommodate parties of 8 so our party was split but this is our daughter’s favorite place so we made it work. Chris I believe was our server’s name and did an excellent job. The food all came out in a timely manner and everything was prepared as it should be and tasted great. I had the halibut special lightly blackened with what I think was a drawn butter with lump crab and it was fantastic. My wife’s filet was a perfect medium as ordered and the apps and sides were all delicious. My only critique is the cocktail. I definitely got my money’s worth of rye in my Manhattan. A little heavy handed on the pour but other than that, everything was spot on.
