Food was decent and okay price. Service was mediocre. Didnt get our drinks until halfway thru eating, and after asking twice.
I made a reservation here to treat my friends to lunch. However, the service staff seemed inexperienced, Resulting in a disorganized order of food and complex explanations during ordering, which felt like a waste of time. As a result, some of my friends couldn't fully enjoy the meal due to its prolonged duration and lack of proper food preparation. It felt like a waste of precious time. Additionally, the prices were higher than expected. After all, the restaurant's thoughtful preparation and excellent service will be remembered as a place worth revisiting. (Later I found out that there was a lunch special menu, but they didn't inform me about it and only presented the expensive menu, giving me the feeling that they were trying to boost sales.)
I ordered to go for 9 people and Robin skipped her day off to be there to explain to me how to do it at home. Every single item was labeled and the food was super fresh.
DO NOT COME HERE. The stovetops on the tables DO NOT WORK. They do not keep a consistent temperature. My hotpot would go from boiling to still to boiling again. It happened on two different stovetops. I asked for a refund from the waiter and he didn’t know what I meant. After explaining my issue to the manager they offered half off. Most of the food was not eaten. I ate two pieces of meat and two veggies and two bites of rice and told them I would pay for what I’ve eaten and leave. They still wanted half of what my meal cost. I drive 2 hours to eat here and have done so regularly since 2018. The service is not what it used to be and the portion sizes are getting smaller while prices continue going up. Don’t even get me started on the required gratuity (even on a party of 2??). This was my favorite restaurant ever since my first visit but now it’s the worst. Nevertheless I hope it was worth losing a regular. I would attach a video of the stovetop error but they’ve disabled attaching media to reviews. I wonder why.
I gave them a 3 stars because to me their food, service n atmosphere are just average, nothing stand out. Their lunch special is a set price of $15 which includes unlimited veggies, white rice, 3 types of sauces and 8 oz of meat that you can choose from lean pork, chicken, pork belly and beef belly, other types of meat proteins, eggs, noodles are additional cost. The water base in the pot is with one piece of seaweed and some soy sauce, other soup bases like miso, seafood flavor, and spicy base are additional cost. One thing that I dislike is that they automatically put an 18% gratuity on your bill for a group of 4 people. Besides, we have to flag down the waiter to put more water in our almost empty pot, didn't refill hot water in our tea cups, and one of our friend waited for a while to get her sliced beef.
Amazing place to eat at! The food was delicious and the service was incredible - they couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy. Awesome value for your money and 100% will be back!
Great first experience with Japanese hot pot. Staff was extremely helpful explaining the best way to enjoy Shabu Shabu . Recommend anyone want to try out Japanese Shabu Shabu.
Absolutely love this place! The service is always great and the food is on point! 10/10 would recommend! Just make sure to make a reservation, cause they’re usually always packed.
