This review is for the restaurant. Great service and friendly staff. The beef and ale pie was delicious The day thus far had been wholesomely wet and windy as we arrived into Alfriston for lunch. The hearty pie hit all the right notes. I don’t recommend the mocha… though you could rightly question why I’d even order coffee at a pub. The interior takes on an old-world tavern feel with dim lighting. I appreciated the witty WiFi password. Food & drinks: They have a bar and restaurant on the main floor.
Disappointed and dissatisfied with our stay. Room was, in our opinion, overpriced. I can give many details about what made the stay disappointing, but I would only mention the value for money and the not great hospitality skills from the host of the inn. Location is good, but would not recommend or stay again.
Pub molto carino, il ragazzo che ci ha servito è stato gentilissimo e molto simpatico. Abbiamo mangiato bene con birre locali.
Very nice pub and lovely people pleasurable stay Mayfield most welcome
Met friends who were staying here and had dinner with them. A beautiful old building with great tables for dining. We had a window seat with very comfy cushions. Grabbed drinks at the bar first. Lydia was friendly and chatted along with us. She also served our table. A great waitress. Food is good pub classics dinner really well. Really pleased to see proper home made puds too - such a rarity these days. Good portions, well presented and very tasty too. It was a quiet evening but we were made to feel really at home. Thoroughly recommend. Dog friendly too.
Staff were very friendly and the pub is very cosy with the lots character and we all enjoyed our roast we will definitely be going back.
