Show was good and so was the food. Place needs updated

Yamato did not disappoint! Walked in got seated away. Had a really good server and and chef. Huge portion of dinner, didn’t care much for the steamed dumplings. But the filet mignon was a huge highlight and the chef cooked it perfectly. Will be back.

The whole interaction was just forced and somewhat of a disappointment. We waited for quite sometime to be seated so you would think that someone would have cleaned the chairs and eating surface so there wasnt food on them. Every other table had a chef that actually interacted with their table. Our chef's attitude was somewhat dry. Besides flipping the spatula..low key showmanship no egg tossing to see who could catch it... no volcano..did some "fireworks". The entire interaction was a let down. Only handful of vegetables definitely not a decent portion for all the attendees. I asked the chef "Could I have more yum yum sauce? He had the audacity to correct the way I asked. "How about adding May I and please" Does the English lesson come with every meal? The bathroom was not clean. The 1st stall door does not properly align with fixture so it wouldn't lock. The trash was overflowing and there were paper towels in the floor. I did let someone know about the trash before we left.

Got sick from the shrimp meal. The steak was good, overall meals were a little too over seasoned w sauce. Was a busy night, service was ok, our server was really sweet. Bathroom can use some help.

Been there twice, wasn't disappointed either time.

The food at Yamato is probably one of the best for Japanese steakhouses in the area; however, the wait and parking on weekends is abysmal! For a party of 2 people, we had to wait an hour and a half! They could never give us a clear time for how long it would be. While I understand they have a lot of large parties, they were leaving tables not completely full. After complaining not once, not twice, but three times we eventually got seated. Turns out they didn't even take our number down correctly and then seated someone else for our spot. Poor staffing! The chefs however are wonderful and the food is fantastic.

I had not been in years, my fiancé and I went in on a random night to eat. I got steak and lobster, she got steak and the meal and the service were both wonderful as I remembered, -portions can be a bit small but it all depends on the chef and who's at your table! I've also received and seen huge portions, so, it just depends! Wait time was only about five minutes without reservations! I would recommend for anyone who hasn't been! Enjoy!
