Just read an MSN news article that Wong's Wok has permanently closed. I'm going to miss their food. I first ate at Wong's Wok circa 1990 in Madison at their location on State Street (just a few blocks down from the Capitol building) which later relocated to East Washington Avenue near East Towne Mall. That location closed looooong ago. I moved to Milwaukee in 1997 and have frequented this Wong's Wok location dozens of times. Despite being 'fast food', Wong's Wok had quality and some great flavors that matched very good Chinese restaurants with regular menus and sit-down table service. I remember the 'unique' Chicken w/ Sugar Snap Peas dish which seemed like a house specialty but quit serving quite a few years ago now. Of course I had favorite selections, but I enjoyed every choice they had on their ready-to-serve steam table. It's sad to know I'll never be able to taste their unique, specific flavors again. Just within the past few weeks I was thinking about swinging buy to grab some of their Wong's Fried Chicken (exceptional battered chicken tenders flavored with tasty seasonings and cooking wine) which I loved to alternately dip in their gravy and wonderful sweet & sour sauce. Great fried rice, lo mein, egg foo young, crab rangoon, egg rolls... everything. I honestly don't remember ever having a poor experience with their food quality. Thanks, Wong's Wok, for the meals and the memories.

Food is over price for the amount they service.

I've been going here for the past 26 years and it still remains my favorite Chinese place. I love their fried chicken when it is made right. Other times it has a bit weird texture as others have said. The one thing that has never failed has been their chicken egg foo young, and the gravy is so good! Edit 10/29/22 There were a few times I thought about giving Wong's up when the weird texture chicken thing was going on and then the long waits in the drive thru, but it seems like they've since been consistent with the quality of their fried chicken again. It was so delicious the last time we went! I don't mind waiting when the food is as great as I've always known. Prices are going up everywhere, but the occasional splurge here is definitely worth it.

Went inside to place order when I walked in there was a haze of smoke. Almost like there was a fire. When I placed my order they didn't have what I wanted made. So I had to wait. While waiting one of the employees was dressed like he was hiding from something. I will try to post photo. Food tasted burnt. This place has gone downhill. Food was good. But it is not as good now.

My family loves the food here. We come here from Sheboygan Falls, sometimes just for the food. We also buy several bottles of the Sweet and Sour Sauce to take home when we visit, it is the best. Yum!
