Wine Unearthed

not an actual place. we tried to go there but it's not a bar/wine bar or similar. posting is misleading.

Venue was a bit cramped, wines were not to my taste (that is a personal thing though) and a few additions (e.g. crackers with the tasting, notes of the actual wines tasted) would have been good. Hence 4 stars. That said, the value for money for the content, wine and lunch was excellent and the knowledge, expertise and anecdotes of the host, "Jed" were truly remarkable and worthy of 10 stars! With a few tweaks, I would definitely do this again as I learnt an awful lot of interesting stuff about wine (which is the point really!)

We had a great day with Cambridge Wine Unearthed. The tutor was knowledgable and his presentation style engaging and easy to follow. There were numerous wines to try and the measures generous. The group was a good size and the venue easy to find. The only slight disappointment was the lunch was only average. Overall a great experience and we would recommend

A very well balanced and informative session on a variety of grapes and geographies. A relaxed environment & highly enjoyable. Well worth the time spent and look forward to seeing future events in my calendar!

I attended a one day wine course (the 'Vine to Wine' one), and I really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was very relaxed and nice, our teacher was informative and prepared, and the people I met there very friendly. I suggest the course to anyone curious about wine, but with little knowledge on it, that would like to have a relaxed and enjoyable crash course on wine tasting.

I'd always fancied attending a wine-tasting course, but had been put off as there was a reputation for them being snobbish, and my taste-buds are so flat, I'm hopeless at identifying the supposed succulent flavours that identify one wine from another. I didn't have to worry. There was definitely no snobbishness (is that a real word?) in the course that Gerard ran. The guy is an encyclopedia of wine, who needs Google when there is a Gerard? The course was laid-back, extremely informative, and great fun. I learnt a lot. As soon as I got home I ran through the wine labels in my small "cellar" to see what grapes I'd got in comparison to what we'd tasted that day. I intend to visit the vineyard for a tour where Gerard is based at Linton, and also to attend the World of Wine course as now I know "a bit", I'll probably get even more from attending another course. It certainly opened my eyes to wine, and I'd definitely recommend the course.

Just to let you know that my son-in-law and I had a great time at the recent wine tasting. The wines, lunch and presentation were all excellent. We enjoyed it and learned a lot too! It was a great birthday present for us both. Thanks very much .
