Dig the location. Service was funny…some folks may need to work on interpersonal skills. Brisket was very very dry. That said, I will go back again and give it another try. Let’s see.
If you are dreaming about BBQ, then make a b-line for Wielands. In it's most recent location it's a combination of food truck and dine-out. The incredible smell of the food cooking on the smoker as you approach will seduce you. Incredible brisket, wings and specials. Follow the Facebook page to keep updated. The Philly cheese steak was almost better than one from Philly.
Pulled pork sandwich tender juicy delicious
Disappointed , small portions and over-priced. Left here hungry and bought additional bbq food elsewhere.
We stopped in for their new “Philly” style hoagies. They were overpriced and awful. After seeing their posts on Facebook I was so excited as I am currently on a spiritual quest of sorts for the perfect Italian Cold Cut. Unfortunately this missed the mark on every aspect. The highlight was the young men working the truck that evening although chatty, they were super kind and offered great service.
Oh, how I long for a BBQ restaurant in town that can actually make Texas style brisket successfully!!! Wieland's gives it a good shot, but came up short the day we ate there for lunch. The $13 brisket sandwich is an ample portion. The meat has a beautiful smoke ring and a tasty bark. Unfortunately, the day we ordered, the meat was as dry as a desert, as if it had been too long on the fire. The brisket beans, however were a hit with plenty of chunks of meat. The BBQ stand is on the back parking lot behind Tastee Zone, with a nice covered eating area with tables and plenty of parking. Eat local!!
