A twitchy guy arrived, turned on his tape player, and started lip-syncing to the Mighty Mouse theme song. The kids thought it was weird, but their counselor (future TB Founder Phil) thought it was genius. The comic's name was Andy Kaufman, and his alter-ego would one day be Tony Clifton. (Or was it?)

The film was Reservoir Dogs, and he was right. Three years later, Mr. Pink became one of the Holy Trinity created when Two Boots expanded to the West Village.

For that - not to mention her early gigs in the gay bath houses of the East Village - we consecrated our classic veggie pizza in her honor.
