Disappointing experience 3/3 - Came in around 2PM and brought out of town family for a 3 person birthday lunch. Server was kind but pushy reminding us "we have a line out the door" and hounding us to decide on drinks/food. At this point the restaurant was less than a third full and there was no line to be seen. Food was alright, but nothing special. A bummer to talk this restaurant up (based on the Soulard location) and spend >$90 on 3 entrees and an appetizer just to get pushed out the door in less than an hour.
I understand they are short staffed but I asked for no bacon or tomato on my sandwich and it came out with it on there. Food came out and they forgot about the app. When I said just to forget the app they said well still bring it to you and take it off the bill. They kept our food back there under the warmer til we ate some of the app we ordered. When they brought my food out they forgot to add the ranch on the sandwich (since it was on top of the bacon) and I have sat and waited 10 mins for a side of ranch before I never got it and decided to just pay for the food and leave. As a business owner I’d just close down for a while til you can get people hired and trained.
Pretty run of the mill nothing excited me The amaretto sour was gross in my opinion Tasted like cheap liquor and too much mix My blueberry silhouette was ‘ok’ incredibly sweet. My southwest salad left in a box Just not thrilled all the way around I understand being understaffed but we were first in there so idk why they couldn't even make sure the fries werent floppy (at the very least) I think this place did well in soulard because of its schtick but as a place to return? We will not. I can say… the jack the ripper ranch was good. Thats it.
I stopped in around 4pm for an early dinner. I was eating alone. There were a couple of female workers near the bar. A male server came over and I told him that it was just me. He replied "I'm the only server and it's happy hour plus I just sat a group of 9. I really don't have time." I replied " um ok" and walked out. I was in shock that he turned a customer away. Other than the 9 the restaurant was empty. I have never been turned away from anywhere. I'm still in shock. I took my business and heavy tips to Burro Loco and had a great dinner.
The space is nice but overall subpar. From waiting 30 mins for a table when the restaurant isn't full, to the food, and service. All subpar at best if you even get the food you ordered. We had the wrong food delivered and then it took forever to get the kids meal. The food we did get was nothing special. Not anything I'll ever seek out again.
Good food, good service, and loved the concept!
They've relocated to the CWE from Soulard. If you love ranch dressing, this is your place. All menu items are dunkable and delicious with the 34 variety of ranch dressing. And this building (over their former Soulard location) is much more refined.
