Stopped here because the line at Starbucks and Peet's was ridiculous. The service from Trenise was excellent. She was helpful and friendly. I had a coffee and the Spicy Chicken Wrap. The coffee was fine and tasted better since I didn't have to wait 45 minutes to get it! The wrap was decent and I appreciated that they had some healthy options, like fresh fruit and salads.
Nice bar at the airport by gate 23. The only bar that offers drinks to go so you can take it to the gate. No lids though.
Service was fast , and I took a chicken salad to go. Good food and drinks reasonable prices for an airport.
I was recently sitting at a table for over 30 minutes at a table at trader Vic’s restaurant at SanJose airport and was not approached by anyone for 30 minutes. I asked if someone at the bar can provide assistance and they said I had to wait for the waiter. When the manager came out he said someone would come out in a bit. that took another 20 minutes. Finally a server came and asked us what we wanted. I complained that I’ve been waiting for 50 minutes without any service at an airport.
He said he just came back off break to which I asked is your break an hour as I haven't seen anyone for over 50 minutes. he then proceeded to get his manager. The manager initially apologized and said his staff member was on break. and then I said but 20 minutes ago you said he would be out here in a bit, and you could have told us this was going to be a long wait. we are at an airport and people need to catch flights. He proceeded to let us know that because of the situation he will no longer serve us and then 5 minutes later just decided to remove us from the restaurant.
I will never come back to this place and give them anymore business. This is absolutely the worst managed restaurant I have ever experienced If I could give negative stars I would.
Walked into this bar because it looked decent, I sat and waited for 20 minutes and was not helped. A waiter ran past me asking if it was just me, and then I never saw him again. It’s true about the previous reviews, they are completely understaffed and the waiters are stressed and yell at each other. It’s too bad because I was really looking forward to letting their cocktails.
I want this spot at the airport to be better. I keep giving it a try because having veg/protein forward options with a fun cocktail is kind of perfect after a long day of travel. It just keeps disappointing. The last three times they have been out of key ingredients and the food they have has gone downhill. The servers are always stressed, coordinating loudly with each other, and not providing great service. They seem understaffed always. I think it's time to give up....
Food was not good at all and way overpriced!!!!! Waitress was not very attentive either. Do not eat there.
If you are here during a layover and need to eat, this is a fun change from the typical airport fare. If dining in, the food has a nice presentation and the drinks are a fun change. Of course you are paying airport prices for what you get, but worthwhile. And pretty hard to beat the view of the runway while enjoying your food and drink.
The ingredients are fresh, and it could be great, but both food and drinks are horribly unbalanced. Too salty, too sour. What could be incredible is just meh airport offerings.
Great pre-flight stop with fun tiki drinks and friendly service. A perfect way to get ready for Hawaii
We love Trader Vic's! We especially love the one in San Jose Airport because you can watch airplanes while having a tiki drink!
Really good food for an airport restaurant. Strong drinks, good food, very friendly staff.
This is a location in the San Jose airport. The food service was fast, which was greatly appreciated.
Chicken wrap was good. Ambiance was fine, a little loud but typical airport vibe. Beer list is limited, mixed drinks are their thing.
In our layover to Portland we stopped in and had a wonderful moment with the amazing staff at this welcoming quaint place. Reva the Bartender guided us through the menu and safe drink choices
She even saved us from the 3 rum 151 drink, that Reva said be careful that one packs a punch. She was Spot on and me and the lady split that tasty pleasure.
Reva was informative and a host with class and grace , we were in professional hands that care about their patrons
Thank you Reva and Mildred , we will always work our layover at San Jose our favorite Trader Vics
Ordered the chicken wrapped, tasted like boiled chicken.
TLDR: their pasta straws are gluten free
Came here for breakfast during a layover.
I had the avocado toast and it was tasty, bread was good and avocado was fresh.
Francisco, our server, was so nice and took great care of us.
My husband has celiac disease, a severe gluten allergy, so he just ordered a Coke. Upon drinking some of it he realized the straw was not plastic and we asked Fransisco what it was made of. He said it’s made of pasta. Ekkkk! We asked Fransisco for a glass of water so my husband could quickly take a couple charcoal pills. He did and then called corporate who checked and confirmed they are actually gluten free! Whew. It was a relief to know my husband didn’t get glutened from that one sip.
Even better, to ensure there are no similar scares in the future Fransisco told us they are making a sign to hang in the back so that all staff are aware the pasta straws are gluten free.
Will return next time we are in the San Jose airport.
