This American pale ale is brewed with an ambush of dry hops, giving it a crisp, refreshing grapefruit and citrus hop flavors without being overly bitter.

In 1828, the University of Virginia created their own fire company made up of students, professors, and community members. Their sole fire engine was called the Hydraulion, a pump wagon with the waterpower of 16 men. The UVA Fire Company left their mark for almost 100 years before giving way to the town of Charlottesville’s Fire Department. Our Hydraulion Red is a nod to not only UVA’s firefighters, but the brave men and women everywhere who risk their lives every day, while saving ours. This Irish-Style Red is a perfectly balanced beer with a great caramel sweetness alongside a tangy, citrusy hop profile.

Give me liberty, or give me death! Our tribute to Patrick Henry, who not only left his mark on Virginia history, but was also one of our most beloved Founding Fathers. Henry led the opposition to the Stamp Act, but he was also central to arguing in a Virginia court against the King’s right to veto colonial laws. The Crown’s veto was nullified in his efforts and his argument was the first notch in a young Patrick Henry’s career. Cheers to the break from the Crown, Patty! This Northern English Brown Ale is filled with a variety of English malts giving it great caramel, nutty, toffee flavors with a touch of chocolate and even espresso. The English Hops offer the perfect balance to the complex malt sweetness, providing an earthy/grassy hop finish. Gold medal winner at 2015 Virginia Brewers Cup.

Nothing beats that sweet spot as winter gives way to summer, so we put that feeling in a beer! This German sour ale becomes a spring favorite with the addition of the bright flavors of passion fruit. Tartness from the the kettle-souring with Lactobacillus gives the beer the same crisp , dry, refreshing quality as a warm spring afternoon.
